No More 'Marked' Travel Cards, No Matter Where You've Been!

Shanghai residents, check your travel card now! The star mark, which symbolizes we've been in an epidemic-stricken region, finally disappears!

But this is good news for all in China. From now travel itinerary cards will not be marked anymore, no matter where you have been to!

The travel itinerary card is a 14-Day dynamic trip record that you would need to pass security checks or inspections while traveling in other cities.

Before, if you had a travel history in a city with medium-/high-risk areas in the past 14 days, your card could be marked with a star, and you can face several restrictions. The star would disappear only if the area reported no more new confirmed cases in 14 days (counting from the 1st day of being marked).

From now on this is going to change as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology called for the abolition of marking itinerary cards.

According to its official website, this is to create convenience for people and boost tourism and the economy.
