Call for Papers for the Special Issue of JISRI

Call for Papers for the Special Issue on “Stainless Steels: Processing, Microstructures and Properties” 

  Journal of Iron and Steel Research International (JISRI, ISSN 1006-706X, CN 11-3678/TF) is scheduled for publication of a special issue Stainless Steels: Processing, Microstructures and Properties in 2018. In recent years, we have witnessed great progresses on the study of stainless steels. Review/research articles that report the recent advances in stainless steels (austenitic, ferritic, dual-phase stainless steels etc.) regarding their alloy design, various processing techniques, heat treatment, microstructures and mechanical behaviors as well as oxidation and corrosion behaviors are invited.

    The final and complete manuscript should be submitted to Journal of Iron and Steel Research International (JISRI) before March 31th, 2018 and this special issue is scheduled to be published in Vol.25, Number 7, July 2018.

    In the review article, please consider recent advances on the pertinent topics, the existing issues, possible solutions as well as perspectives of the future development. If possible, please cite the recently published relevant papers of this journal in the research article.

Introduction of  Journal of Iron and Steel Research International 

Journal of Iron and Steel Research International (JISRI) launched in 1994. It is an international peer-reviewed journal, sponsored by China Iron and Steel Research Institute (CISRI) Group, administrated by China Iron and Steel Association, edited and published monthly by CISRI Boyuan Publishing Co., Ltd. In the past years, this journal has made great progress and achieved good comments as an excellent periodical with focuses on various aspects of iron and steel materials. This journal is indexed by SCI, EI etc., and its SCI impact factor reached 0.836 in 2016.

Introduction of guest editor

    The guest editor of this special issue is Dr. Liqing Chen. He was born in 1965, and presently is a professor in materials science at the State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation (RAL), Northeastern University (NEU). He received his B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Northeast University of Technology in 1988 and was awarded Ph.D. degree in Materials Sciences at Northeastern University in 1995. During 1995-2004, he had been working as a research associate and an associate research fellow at the Institute of Metal Research (IMR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), as a research associate at Department of Physics and Materials Science, City University of Hong Kong, and as a postdoctoral research fellow at Department of Materials Processing Engineering, School of Engineering, Nagoya University, Japan. Dr. Chen was selected as a New Century Excellent Talent (NCET), Ministry of Education (2006), talent at Hundred People Level of Liaoning Provincial Talents Project (2007), and Dual Creative Talent of Jiangsu Province (2014). He is also the director of Academic Committee for Plastic Forming Theory and New Technology, member of Council of Steel Rolling, Chinese Society for Metals, and member of Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity.

  His research interests include forming process, microstructures and mechanical properties of advanced metallic materials, processing technologies and mechanical property characterization of special steels and alloys, and light metal-matrix composites.
