New Visa Policy Of China

We’ve all heardabout the changes and point system that the Chinese government will be addingto the Visa process and Visa types us expats can get, but what exactly thosechanges will be we have really yet to see. Today we’ve got the exactinformation here on changes to Visas, helping you to clearly see where youstand.

All of these newrules will go into effect in the following areas by the end of March: Shanghai,Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Anhui, Shandong, Guangdong, Sichuan, Yunan, andNingxia

While the lawswill take effect nationwide on April 1st, 2017. Below are some charts outlining the classifications and the point system the government will be using.

*Please note that satisfyingone of the criteria above is not a guarantee of approval.

People had questions aboutwhether or not their existing paperwork will still be valid, and the answer isyes. During the pilot phase any unexpired Foreign Expert Work Permit, ForeignExpert Certificate, Alien Employment License, and Alien Employment Permit willcontinue to be valid. Anyone with anyone of the above permits can apply for theForeigner’s Work Permit voluntarily.

Also keep in mind that sincethe new rules are newly implemented the actual practice of government agenciesaround China may change based on feedback or issues they encounter. So some ofthis information may be a little bit different than what your local governmentactually does.

✔Please note: Applicants in China can only apply for a new visa if they meet any one of following conditions:

➡ Holders of other types of visas or validresidency permits, who are categorized as Class A expats

➡ Change of employer but the position withthe new employer is the same, and the residence permit is still valid

➡ Accompanying family member with validvisa or residence permit

➡ Other condition approved by competentauthority.
