To foreigners: HEALTH CODE Isn't Enough! A “TRACE CODE” r needed

Recently, The Chinese Government
Service Platform has designed a "Health Code Traveler Version" of the
Green Health Code. This version is aimed to help inbound travelers
without mainland ID cards for better epidemic prevention and control
purposes.
According
to the newest regulations implemented by the local government you can
travel to most of the areas as long as you have a green health code and a
trace code that shows you haven't recently traveled to any of the
high-risk epidemic areas. (parts of Beijing and Hubei are considered high-risk areas)
The trace code or 国务院轨迹码（guowuyuan guijima), together with the health code, makes possible traveling in China during the COVID-19 pandemic. The trace code helps the authorities check your location history for the past 14 days. The trace code was established with the help of China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Academy of Information and Telecommunications Technology CAICT.
Although the "Health Code Traveler Version" makes possible traveling between provinces for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents and foreign nationals. Please note, this does NOT mean the borders have now opened up to foreign passport holders who are currently not in the country China. You also might be required to use the local health app in several provinces.

Inbound travelers may apply the Health Code on a voluntary basis to enable convenient travel and may cancel the registration at any time. You also might be required to use the local health app in several provinces.

What materials can be used for registration?
Any of the following 8 types of identity certificates can be used for registration:
ordinary passport, Entry-Exit Permit for traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macao (EEP), Entry-Exit Permit for Travelling to and from Taiwan, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, Foreign Permanent Resident ID card, Residence Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, and Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents.
Cannot receive the verification code?
Apart from receiving verification codes on your mobile phone, an e-mail address also works to complete the registration process.
What if I receive “no relevant health information has been found” notice after registration?
If so, please follow instructions and send the required materials to al7@cegn.gov.cn, then wait for the technical support team to do the verification.
How long is the Health Code valid for? Can I use a screenshot?
The health status shown on the QR code will be automatically updated every 15 minutes. Therefore screenshots cannot be used as an alternative to the Health Code itself.
Is daily re-visit needed?
The Health Code represents a comprehensive evaluation of the user's health status base on available information. It does not require re-visit or “clock-in” every day. However, users are kindly advised to update personal information if symptoms such as fever appear.
What if I have doubts about the health status shown?
In case of any doubts, users can send feedback to al7@cegn.gov.cn for modification and correction with relevant supporting materials, which will be examined by the support team.
Step-by-step Guide for domestic residents
If you've been in China during the epidemic, and you are going to travel provincially outside Sichuan, this mini-program can also help. Input your mobile phone no. and will show which area you've been in the last 14 days in China. If all areas are low-risk, then you're good to go.

Please note that each province or area may require different health code or certificate to visit, always ask both airports, airline companies, and hotel to confirm before you go.
