About us

Our school, located in Business Development Area, Beijing, is composed of Kindergarten, Primary School, Middle School and High School (K-12). We have been operating since the year 2005. Currently, there are 2565 enrolled students from 16 countries and 78 full-time foreignteachers from different countries.

 Our school currently covers an area of 26,800 square meters and the school building covers an area of 20,097 square meters.The library has a total collection of 47,900 books including both Chinese and English books. There are more than 200 faculty members, including 55 foreign teachers. There are 1,380 students and 58 classes in Chinese track and English track with students coming from 19 different countries and regions.

The teachers, adhering to the education ethic of “love and responsibility”, draw essence from both Eastern and Western education to synthesize the best of all cultures and arts. We stress each student’s holistic development and also emphasize the importance of morals and integrity in education. As we expand into more classes, we continue to hire qualified staff throughout the year.

Our Package

1.  Salary/month:23-30K before tax, negotiable basedon qualications and working exprience.

2.Housing allowance: single: 3000RMB

3.  Home Visit Travel allowance: Additional 12,000 RMB/year to subsidize for travel, Paid 1,000 RMBmonthly

4.  Flight Reimbursement : One round trip ticket for employee and each familymember. One‐time only per family (under 18 years old dependents).

5.  Health Insurance: MSH global insurance, all family members covered.

6.  Relocation Allowance: out of China: 3,000 RMB per single teacher and 6,000 RMB per family

7.  Home Visit Travel Allowance: Additional 12,000 RMB/ year to subsidize, Paid 1,000RMB monthly

8.  Responsibility Stipend (Duty Allowance): 1,200RMB-2,000RMB per month depending on the positions.DA will only be paid out in 10 months (when the school is in session)

9.   Holidays: 100% paid winter,summerand public holidays (including pandemic period online teaching)

10.   Children's SchoolTuition: Free or 70% discount

Standard Qualifications

1. Candidates fromthe US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, aged less than 50.
2.Bachelor degree or above, majored in education preferred

3. 2 years or more full-time teaching experience in subjects related and hold TEFL/TESOL /other teaching Certificates.

4.Preferred: those in China Holding valid Z visa in Englishteaching and can be transferred.

Position 1 Eelementary Homeroom Teachers 

Provide instructional guidance in the elementary school in Language arts, Science, and Math, while actively contributing to our students and school through associated roles expected of aholistic professional educator in a dynamic system dedicated to honor, excellence, community, and joy.

Job Duties for Teaching &Learning

1.Teach a minimum of 20 periods per week

2.Work with students at age 3~6

3.Work on curriculum development, which includes preparing effective diverse lesson units based on curriculum formats.

4.  Collaborate with age level teachers

5.  Design authentic assessments and measure their effectiveness in meeting curricular goals

6.  Promote our school values of Character, Confidence, Health and Joy

7.  Maintain and update timely student records including grading (homework, evaluation books, progressreports,report cards, student attendance, and other required documents)

9.   Work closely with parents/homeroom teachers through providing feedback on progress, answeringquestions,and being an educational partner where possible

10.Proactively meet and communicate with parents/homeroom teachers, students and other teacherswhen necessary to develop interventions forstudents with academic, emotional/behavioral or other needs

11.   Serve as a substitute teacher when needed

12.   Take an active role in required meetings (departmental; age level; committees,faculty; etc.)

13.   Assist with additional duties as assigned

Educationand Work Experience Requirements

1.Bachelor’sdegree required in elementary education but a bachelors’ degree in a relatedfield (English, Early childhood, curriculum) is considered

2.  Has a valid teaching license/certificate: TEFL/TESOL/PGCE/...

3.  At least 2 years full-time teaching in a regular elementary school setting preferred

Provide instructional guidance to students in social studies courses while actively contributing to our students and school through associated roles expected of a holistic professional educator in adynamic system dedicated to honor, excellence, community and joy.

Job Duties for Teaching&Learning

1. Teach 20 periods per week of any or a combination of the following: ELA,Social Studies, electives

2.  Generally work with students in grades 6-8, as assigned for the school year

3. Be comfortable working with advanced and motivated students who have strongacademic backgrounds

4. Work on curriculum development, which includes preparing effective lessonunits based on the school’s curriculum development formats.

5. Maintain and update timely student records including grading (homework,grade books, progress reports, report cards, student attendance, and otherrequired documents

6. Actively fulfill assigned supervision duties, which could include servingas an advisory Teacher

7. Work closely with and assist students who are still developing their English language skills.

8. Apply differentiation in lessons in order to meet the needs of the students

9. Meet with parents, students and other teachers when necessary to developinterventions for students with academic or emotional/behavioral needs

10. Positively and proactively communicate with parents/guardians, teachersand students when needed.

11.  Serve as substitute teacher for ES, MS, and HS when needed (compensationwill be provided)

12. Attend and take an active role in meetings and events (departmental, gradelevel, committees, faculty, etc.)

13. Perform other duties as needed (e.g. coach a sports team, handle remedialclasses)

Education and Work ExperienceRequirements

1. Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field such as English Language Arts, Literature, Social Studies, government orpublic policy. Those with degrees in education and with a background teachingSocial Studies and/or ELA will also be considered

Position 3 High School English/Economics Teacher

Job Purpose

Our High School-International’s English and AP curriculum designed to prepare learners for success in university studies abroad.  Through them, students improve vocabulary, reading comprehension, composition, and analytical skills. The courses teach the study skills and habits essential for a western style of education.   The analytical and writing skills that students develop in SMIC’s English courses prepare them for success in Western universities.  Advanced Placement courses provide college level challenge to students who are academically prepared.

• Instruct students on the AP Economics curriculum

• Guide students towards successfully passing the AP Economics test

• Facilitate intensive academic vocabulary development.

• Teach students about the structure and content of the English language, including proper grammar, writing structure, and rhetorical devices.

• Teach study skills and habits necessary for success in English medium classes.

• Develop a culture of reading through stories, articles and research.

• Develop and teach critical writing and citation.

• Help students interpret a variety of texts including fiction, nonfiction, history, and science.

• Develop students’ ability to analyze texts at different levels.

• Equip students to learn through collaboration, research, and writing projects

Job Duties for Teaching&Learning

2.   Create lesson plans and modify throughout the year. Utilize various curriculum resources in planning.

3.  Observe and evaluate student's performance through varied assessments.

4. Grade tests and homework in a timely manner.

6. Create a positive educational climate and manage student behavior in the classroom.

7. Communicate clearly in and out of the classroom with students and parents.

8.  Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.

Education and Work Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in secondary education or other closely related fields

• Experience in teaching ESL for at least 3 years

• Teaching Certification from a recognized institution

• Fluent in both oral and written English at a professional standard

• Demonstrate commitment to integrated education at the secondary level,

including innovation, technology, and best practices

• Design units to support the students’ core courses and develop necessaryskills

• Knowledgeable about ESL teaching methods and techniques appropriate atthe

high schoollevel

• Comfortable working in a school that embraces western style educational philosophies

• Comfortable with computers for school related purposes including enhancing

instruction,data management, email, and MS Office programs

• Able to instruct students to use technology effectively for academic purposes
