Guangzhou has dropped its 7-day home-based quarantine required for international inbound arrivals to the city, according to 12345, the city's public service hotline.
Shenzhen also announces today (March 25) similar measures saying that travelers from overseas will no longer be required to undergo quarantine for as long as "14+7" days upon their entry into the city.
Under the adjustment, all inbound arrivals will be put under a 14-day centralized isolation in designated places and have four nucleic acid tests against COVID-19 during the quarantine, on the first, fourth, seventh and fourteenth day, respectively. Those who show a negative test result after 14 days of medical observation can be released from quarantine and move freely.
Inbound passengers, whose destination is Shenzhen meeting the requirements for conducting a home-based quarantine, can apply for a "7+7" medical observation after producing a negative result of nucleic acid test.
Shenzhen also bans the further extension of quarantine period or the imposing of home-based quarantine, or home- or community-based health management on people having been discharged from centralized medical observation.
In early January, Guangdong province scaled up its COVID-19 containment measures for inbound travelers from overseas, extending the quarantine period to 21 days, and required these people to have five nucleic acid tests during the quarantine period.
