International Family Day! 5月15日国际家庭日

1989年12月8日,第44届联合国大会通过一项决议,宣布1994年为“国际家庭年”(International Year of the Family),并确定其主题为“家庭：变化世界中的动力与责任”, 其铭语是“在社会核心建立最小的民主体制”。

1993年2月,联合国社会发展委员会又作出决定，从1994年起，每年5月15日为“国际家庭日”(International Day for Families) 。设立“国际家庭日”旨在改善家庭的地位和条件，加强在保护和援助家庭方面的国际合作。

Eng: (Open the dictionary) I'm glad to. In the United States Mother's Day was first suggested in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe as a day dedicated to peace. Miss. Howe would hold organized Mother's Day meetings in Boston, Mass ever year.

Lish: I have no idea.

Eng: International Family Day! This day highlights the importance of families.

Lish: Well, Do you know what the word "family" means?

丽斯：那你知道“family”这个单词意味着什么吗？

Eng: I think a family is a group of persons whose members love and try to help each other.

英格：我觉得家庭就是一个团体，成员们爱护对方并且全力帮助彼此。

Lish: You are partly right. Look at this card! (On the card there is a line of words.)

丽斯：你说对一半吧。看看这张卡片！（卡片上有一行字。）

Eng："(F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER, (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU!"

英格：“爸爸和妈妈，我爱你！”

Lish：What a classical sentence!

丽斯：多经典的一句话啊！

Eng: If we are all flowers, our families are our gardens. It is a place where we can get protected. As gardeners, our parents sacrifice a lot for us.

英格：如果我们都是鲜花，那么家庭就是我们的花园。家庭是我们避风的港湾。我们的父母就像园丁一样为我们牺牲很多很多。

Lish: No matter what happens to us, our families will shelter us from the storm.

丽斯：无论发生什么事情，我们的家都会为我们挡风遮雨。

Eng: May every family happy!

英格：祝愿每一个家庭都幸福！

Lish: Happy International Family Day!
