Under different cultural background, the art, the science and the fashion collide and intermingle. In Shanghai such an international and fast-paced city, what kind of chemical reaction will Tibetan culture produce in the soil of Shanghai regional culture and international culture?

在不同文化背景下，艺术、科技、时尚相互碰撞、相互融合，在上海这座国际化快节奏的“魔都” ，西藏文化在海派文化和国际文化交错的土壤下会产生怎样的化学反应？

When the fashionable, fresh, clashing contemporary trend is encountered with the traditional wisdom from the Himalayas, here always comes out the heart-touching question of the times: how can we achieve inward peace and draw strength from the traditional wisdom in every noisy moment?

时髦、新鲜、冲突的当代潮流遇见来自喜马拉雅的传统智慧，总是迸发出叩击人心的时代之问：我们如何在每个嘈杂的当下，保持内心平静，从传统智慧中汲取创新力量。

Young Tibetan artists use Tibetan calligraphy, paintings, the latest trend design, music, dance and other art forms to provide the city with all aspects of physical and mental relaxation and healing.

年轻的西藏艺术家们，用藏文书法、绘画、潮流设计、音乐舞蹈等艺术形式，给予都市人身心灵全方位的放松和疗愈。

Taking 30th April (4 represents 4 vowels and 30 represents thirty Tibetan alphabet) "National Tibetan Calligraphy Day" as an opportunity,  here holds a one-month Tibetan Culture and Art Exhibition, combining varied and colourful traditional Tibetan culture to present the transformation and growth of Tibetan contemporary art.

以4月30日（4代表四个元音，30代表三十个藏文字母）“全国藏文书法日”为契机，举办为期一个月的西藏文化艺术展，结合丰富多彩的传统西藏文化，展现西藏当代艺术的蜕变与成长。

The Tibetan culture born in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has a long tradition and is broad and profound. Tibetan literature, philosophy, medicine, music, painting, and so on has reached a fairly high standard, which cannot achieve without the flowing and graceful art of Tibetan calligraphy behind this splendid culture.

诞生在青藏高原的藏族文化，历史悠久，博大精深。藏族的文学、哲学、医学、音乐、绘画等都达到了相当高的水准，在这灿烂的文化背后，都离不开流畅优美的藏文书法艺术。

By interweaving several clues which are eastern and western, from the ancient times and modern times, and traditional and contemporary, it lets works break the limitation of time to explore the tradition and contemporaneity and awaken subjects' self-consciousness of feeling temporal things.

用东与西、古与今、传统与现代的多条线索交织，让作品打破时间的局限，发掘传统的当代性，唤醒主体感悟万物的自觉意识。

Breaking The Limitation: Tibetan Contemporary Art

Tibetan contemporary art started coming into the international vision in 2000, each exhibition continued refreshing and changing the external stereotypes of Tibetan art. For example, it's generally believed that Tibetan art is Tang-ga and Buddhist art.

西藏当代艺术从2000年开始进入国际视野，每一场大大小小的展览，都在不断刷新改变外界对西藏艺术的固有看法，比如普遍认为西藏艺术就是唐卡及佛教艺术的看法。

Tibetan contemporary artist group rise abruptly, also gradually changing the mind led by mainland artists, which is the external imaginary modification of Tibetan customs and othering perspective of expression.

藏族当代艺术家群体的崛起，也逐渐在改变内地艺术家为主导的艺术观念，即对西藏风土人情的外在假想式的修饰及他者化的表述视角。

Under the background of globalization, every artist who lives in Tibet is experiencing unprecedented spiritual change transformation of belief. Only those who have experienced it in this land can truly experience and express all of this.

全球化席卷的大时代背景下，每一个生活于西藏的艺术家们都在经历前所未有的心灵变迁与信仰转化，而这一切也只有在这片土地上亲身经历的人才能真切的体验与表述。

Many people use "Tibet is a place of lack of oxygen, but there is no lack of faith" to describe the beauty of Tibet. But if you know, it is the countless Tibetan people scattered on this plateau that constitutes the unique beauty of Tibet.
