Ayi, Help! ( "Ayi, Bang")

2016-03-19 Sarah Ringy001翻译特工

As a person with OCD, I have to admit that whenever I used to tidy up the house, I always enjoyed it a little while suffering a lot - until one day I discovered this app with a funny name - Ayi Bang. At first, I really doubted whether the founder of this app named it this on purpose to catch people's attention. Unlike its English meaning, "Bang"(帮) in Chinese means Help so what "Ayi, Bang" means is actually:  "Ayi, Help."

Let's see how Ayi can help through this app.

First, they offer four different services: 1. General cleaning; 2. furniture maintenance; 3. household appliance cleaning; and 4. baby-sitting. On the home page, you will see a shortcut to the general cleaning service. Generally speaking, if you are not plagued by an advanced stage of OCD, general cleaning should be enough.

Before you start setting up the app, you need to copy your address in Chinese first.

Step 1: Home page.

Choose your city and click General Cleaning.

Step 2: Set up your account.

Tap Setting first, then it will redirect to the Log In page which requires you to put in your phone number so that you can receive a verification code. After you enter the verification code, you will be automatically redirected to the Setting page where you can put in your address.

Step 3: Submit your request.

Choose the number of Ayis you would require, how long you think your house will take to clean, and the desired cleaning date. Confirm this appointment at the buttom once you decide to pay.

Tips: if your desired date shows grey, it means there is no Ayi available on that day, but don't worry. It is rare to see. The reason you see all dates are grey below in the image is simply due to the late time at 22:05. Usually speaking the dates show green (means there are Ayis available) as long as you make the appointment during daytime.

Step 4: Confirm the order.

Pay through the app (some set-up required), through WeChat wallet, or through Alipay. Usually, I would recommend that you use WeChat wallet, since it's the only way that doesn't require any bank card information. If your Chinese friends don't mind, you could ask them to do you a favor by sending you a "hong bao" (red packet) in WeChat and you just return the money to them in cash. Then you could use the balance left in your WeChat wallet to pay for the cleaning fee. Cool, huh?

Step 5: Click Balance mode and enter your password.

Step 6: Once you pay, it's all done!

Now you just need to sit tight and wait for your Ayi to arrive.

If your location is beyond their service range, they would call you to inform you of the cancellation. Once your Ayi comes to the door, you might need to talk with her occasionally to make sure she understands how you would like her to do the work. If you have difficulty communicating with her, send RINGY a message and a RINGY agent will be responding to you instantly!
