报告简介：

Exploiting the random assignment of college roommates, this study examines peer effects in knowledge sharing in online communities from three aspects: behaviors, motivations, and perceptions of the features of knowledge shared online. Results show that peers’ average knowledge sharing behaviors, especially the aggregate level of contribution, play a strong and positive role in determining an individual’s corresponding behaviors. Individuals are also positively affected by peers’ non-monetary motivation to share online, as well as their perceived importance of fast delivered information. Moreover, we provide evidence that peers’ perceived features of knowledge shared online affect individuals’ knowledge sharing behaviors, and individuals’ online knowledge sharing are positively affected by peers’ offline contribution decision. Further analyses reveal heterogeneous peer effects by the type of online communities, gender, Hukou type (rural vs. urban), and college major.

报告人简介：

邓卫广，湖南大学经济与贸易学院副教授。2014年博士毕业于香港中文大学经济系，本硕毕业于中山大学。主要研究方向为劳动经济学、行为实验经济学、微观应用计量。近年在Journal of Population Economics、China Economic Review，《经济研究》、《经济学》季刊、《劳动经济研究》等SSCI和CSSCI 权威期刊发表数篇学术论文。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、 湖南省社科联项目等，主持大型微观数据调查《中国大学生追踪调查》，多项田野实验调查和网络问卷调查。现任中国劳动经济学者论坛理事会秘书长。
