UNNC and IGSNRR DTP Signing Ceremony

After successful launch of first UNNC Joint Doctoral Training Programme (DTP) on 21 Dec 2017, the second Doctoral programme between UNNC and Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS. (IGSNRR) signed the Agreement of Cooperation on 3 Apr 2018. This programme is aiming to recruit 5 high quality PhDs in environmental sciences and geographic sciences and  aim to cultivate them with international perspective and with the capability of solving global environment challenges.

继去年12月正式启动首个联合博士培养项目后，宁波诺丁汉大学（宁诺）再次携手中国科学院下属地理科学与资源研究所（地理资源所）于2018年4月3日正式签署合作备忘录，在环境科学和地理学2个研究领域培养首批5名具有国际视野、致力于应对全球环境挑战的优秀博士生。

UNNC inherits the same quality control system as University of Nottingham UK (UoN) and shares global network and academic resources with the UK and Malaysia Campus. Those advantages help UNNC attracting varies cooperation partners from both domestic and overseas Universities and research Institutes. The cooperation with IGSNRR is the second DTP programme. The DTP students will be supervised by both UNNC and IGSNRR and their supervision teams will be composed by academic staff from both parties. The students will have access to the resources and facilities at both UNNC and IGSNRR (supervisors, laboratory, library and others). The students will be funded by full scholarships and they will be receiving UoN degree certificate once they completed programmes successfully.

宁波诺丁汉大学沿用英国诺丁汉大学教学质量保障体系，共享诺丁汉大学英国和马来西亚校区全球网络和教学资源，曾收到许多国内外大学和研究机构发来的联合博士培养项目邀约。此次与地理资源所的合作是宁诺与中科院下属研究所开展的第二个联合博士培养项目。参与该项目的博士生将享受来自宁诺和地理资源所的双重优质师资和完善的科研设备设施，同时获得双方联合提供的丰厚奖学金，顺利完成项目的博士生将获得由英国诺丁汉大学颁发的学位证书。

Professor Chris Gerada (Vice Provost of Research, UNNC), Professor Alain Chong (Dean of Graduate School, UNNC), Professor Weidong Liu (Assistant Director of IGSNRR) and Professor Guofu Yuan (Head of Education Management Department of IGSNRR) attended the ceremony. 

宁诺科研副校长Chris Gerada教授、研究生院院长Alain  Chong教授以及地理资源所所长助理刘卫东教授、研究生部主任袁国富教授等出席了签约仪式。

 “UNNC and IGSNRR will develop innovative PhD programmes and cultivate world-class PhD talents with an international perspective and skills-set.” Professor Alain Chong said in the welcome speech.

在仪式上，Alain Chong教授在欢迎词中提到宁诺和地理资源所将会开展创新的博士课程以及联合培养具有国际视野和技能的世界级博士人才。

校所简介

UNNC established its PhD programme in 2009. Currently UNNC has 338 registered PhD students and has over 90 PhD graduates so far and with 100% employment rate. UNNC invests hugely in training PhD students, for example, UNNC invested in PhD scholarships increases to RMB 25million in 18/19.

宁波诺丁汉大学于2008年12月获教育部批准开展博士研究生教育，目前有338名注册博士生，近90名博士生顺利毕业且实现了高起点的全员就业。宁诺十分注重博士生的培养，仅2018/2019学年的博士奖学金就投入了人民币2500万元。

IGSNRR is one of the first batch of doctoral and master degree awarding units approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. IGSNRR presently is equipped with two first-level discipline doctoral training points: Geography (including Natural Geography, Human Geography, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems and Natural Resources as four secondary discipline), Ecology; It has a secondary discipline doctorate degree training point in Environmental Science. Currently, there are 791 graduate students and 278 postdoctoral students in the program.

中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所是国务院学位委员会批准的首批博士、硕士学位授予单位之一。现设有2个一级学科博士研究生培养点：地理学（含自然地理学、人文地理学、地图学与地理信息系统、自然资源学4个二级学科）、生态学；设有环境科学1个二级学科博士研究生培养点。共有在学研究生791人，在站博士后278人。
