概况

Madagascar is an island country found in the western Indian Ocean off the coast of southern-east Africa. It is comprised of numerous islands, the largest of which is the island of Madagascar,  it is the largest island in Africa and the fourth largest island in the world, after Greenland, New Guinea and Borneo. 

马达加斯加位于印度洋西部，隔非洲大陆东岸相望。马达加斯加作为最大的岛还附有几个大小岛屿。马达加斯加是非洲第一大岛，世界第四大岛, 前三大岛分别是格陵兰岛，新几内亚岛和加里曼丹岛。

The capital and largest city of Madagascar is Antananarivo. 

马达加斯加的首都及最大城市是塔那那利佛。

The official languages of Madagascar are Malagasy and French.

马达加斯加的官方语言是马达加斯加语和法语。

Located in Antananarivo Province, it is most commonly known by its colloquial short-hand form Tana.
