Republic of Sierra Leone is located in the west side of the African Continent. Its capital and largest city(by population) is Freetown. The country encompasses 71,740 square kilometers making it the 119th largest country in total area. It shares boundaries with Guinea, Liberia and the Atlantic Ocean.

Major geographical features are Loma Mansa (Bintumani), its highest point at 1,948 meters and the Atlantic Ocean, its lowest point at 0 meters.
