报告题目:Energetic electron precipitations by chorus waves and its impact on the middle atmosphere
讲座摘要
Whistler chorus waves cause energetic electron precipitations into the Earth’s atmosphere, and signatures of precipitations are observed as diffuse, pulsating aurora, and microbursts of energetic electrons. In this talk, we present our model that propagating chorus waves cause wide energy electron precipitations. Considering this model, we discuss that relativistic electron microbursts are a high-energy tail of the pulsating aurora electrons. Moreover, we show that relativistic electrons cause a significant ozone destruction at the middle atmosphere by conjugate observations of Arase and ground-based observations.

个人简介
Dr. Miyoshi has studied the magnetospheric system science, especially, solar wind – inner magnetosphere/radiation belts coupling process and its application to space weather forecast, and energetic electron accelerations and precipitations processes by various kinds of plasma waves. He has also studied the aurora using the high-speed imaging cameras. He has authored or co-authored about 340 peer-reviewed publications. He is the project scientist of JAXA Arase (ERG) project and the manager of the ERG Science Center. He also contributes to the international community such as a bureau member of SCOSTEP, the chair of the panel on the radiation environment modeling of COSPAR, and an editor of Annales Geophysicae and other international journals.
