3月16日亚特兰大针对亚裔的枪击和过去一年中对亚裔的仇恨行为让全美华人华侨除了担心自身安全之外，还需要反思美国种族歧视的历史对切身利益的影响。郭律师号大家召团结一致，行动起来，发出自己的声音，#StopAsianHate，抵制针对亚裔的仇恨犯罪和种族歧视！《从“无代表不纳税”到《排华法案》》

除了在社交媒体上发声和在自己所在社区、学校、公司、公益组织、媒体发言之外，我们还需要联系所在地区的政客，要求他们表态谴责仇恨犯罪和种族歧视，以及采取措施，审视应对仇恨犯罪和种族歧视的政策和操作流程，以预防仇恨犯罪。

因此，郭律师起草了以下信件寄给所在城市Austin市长。下面，郭律师还会寄信给城市委员、州众议员、州参议员、联邦众议员、和联邦参议员（尽管我知道写信给Ted Cruz没啥用）。

RE: Atlanta Shooting targeting Persons of Asian Heritage

Dear Mayor Adler,

As six of eight victims of the shooting are Asian, the suspect gunman at Atlanta shooting is likely racially motivated.[1] Against the backdrop of the past year’s anti-Asian rhetoric[2] and a sharp increase in hate incidences[3] during the COVID-19 pandemic, these crimes of the suspect gunman raise alarms on both Asian American communities and the nation as a whole on visible and invisible discrimination against people of Asian heritage. The list piles up as we review the anti-Asian racism in U.S. history: the Page Act of 1875, Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, the Immigration Act of 1924 and Asiatic Barred Zone, the Internment of Japanese Americans, and the 1992 Los Angeles riots, etc. We need to #StopAsiaHate.

As a person of Asian heritage and an immigration attorney, I call on the City of Austin to officially condemn anti-Asian rhetoric and hate incidences against Asian minorities. Moreover, a review of the policies and procedures of the city police department in handling such racially charge incidences is also in order to prevent future incidences against minorities such as African, Asian, and Hispanic Americans, etc.
