2016爆红的表情包、流行语、关键词，用英语如何表达？
2016年即将过去，这一年，网络又涌现了不少表情包和流行语，外媒对这些新鲜的事物也是十分关注。
双语君（微信ID：chinadaily_mobile）梳理了一下国外网站盘点的2016年中国互联网上流行的表情包，一起来看看外国人怎么翻译这些表情包的吧。
Primeval Power 洪荒之力
大家还记得傅园慧吧？里约奥运赛场的一股清流席卷了整个互联网，让这个杭州姑娘一夜成名。她的经典语录“洪荒之力”也瞬间成为爆红网络的新名词。
When asked how she won her race at this year’s Olympics in Rio, Fu Yuanhui responded that she used all of her inner strength and “primeval power.” The term, together with her adorable facial expressions, made for instant memery.
里约奥运会上，记者采访傅园慧，问她是怎样赢下比赛的。她说，她已经发挥了全力，并且用上了“洪荒之力”。这个词，和她那可爱的表情一起，瞬间成为了表情包。
这个词还有别的翻译方式，如primordial power，mystic energy，prehistorical powers，genesis powers等，总之并没有一种标准的翻译方式。使用时，只需搭配合适的面部表情，以上这些用法均可以达到理想效果。

Watermelon eaters 吃瓜群众
这已经是相当常见的网络用语了，常指“不明真相”、“局外旁观”的人。
本词发源于一次公路采访，当记者采访一个老伯时，老伯回答“什么都不知道，只是在路边吃西瓜”。此后经网友推广而红遍网络。
“Watermelon eaters” refers a big crowd of passive onlookers. Similar in meaning to lurker, watermelon eaters usually refers to people on social media who do not actually contribute anything.
“吃瓜群众”指为数众多的消极旁观者。本词与“潜水者”相似，通常指社交媒体上没有实际贡献的人们。
As with any good meme, this has evolved into chicken eaters and pancake eaters, referring people who lurk, but don’t really pay attention.
与那些好玩的表情类似，本词也发展成了“吃鸡群众”“吃饼群众”等，指那些潜水而又没有真正关注某事的人。
其它译法如watermelon-eating spectators, melon-eating masses, onlookers也指相同的意思，“不明真相的吃瓜群众”可以译为onlookers who are unaware of the facts或the public who are kept in the dark。
群众们吃瓜围观且不明真相的典型事件：美国大选。用法示例：
I was supposed to be a quiet watermelon-eating spectator during the US election, but now I have become a fan of Trump’s daughter [Ivanka]… what is going on?
Small target 小目标
此语来源于中国富豪王健林。他在一次采访中使用了本词，因其讲话内容与本词反差较大，瞬间被网友刷屏。
Earlier this year, Wang Jianlin, China’s richest person, said in an interview, “You shouldn’t be that ambitious. Set a small target first, like earning 100 million RMB.” This was his advice to young people who want to be wealthy. And, like any public figure making an embarrassing gaffe, the quote quickly became meme fodder with one-liners.
今年早些时候，中国首富王健林在采访中说，“野心不必太大，先定一个小目标，比方说先挣一个亿。”这是他对希望致富的年轻人的建议。与公众人物令人尴尬的失言一样，这句话也很快成为了搞笑表情包的模板。
别的译法如small goal，small plan等等，也有同样的意思。注意，一定保留“small”，才能很好地表达反差效果。

Sinking friend "ship" 友谊小船说翻就翻
一组漫画在网上走红，小伙伴们突然觉得这样的比喻再恰当不过了，于是很快这个词也成了流行语。
De-friending: a much-discussed phenomenon in the heady early days of Facebook. That same phenomenon has made its way to China. You look up a casual acquaintance or high school sweetheart only to find you’re not friends anymore! To send them a message, you even have to resend a friend request!
删除好友是Facebook早期被广泛讨论的一种现象。同样的现象正在中国开始露头。你想找一个点头之交的熟人，或者高中时期的恋人，却发现你们已经不是好友了！如果想给他们发信息，甚至得重新发送好友申请！
The phrase mocks how easy it is for a cyber friendship to fall out. Any tiny trigger can lead to a broken friendship, from taking a bad selfie of your friend to losing weight when they cannot.
这个流行短语讽刺了互联网时代的友谊是如此容易崩塌的现实。任何一点小事，都有可能导致友谊破裂，比如给朋友拍了一张难看的自拍、一方减肥不成功等等。

Ge You slouch 葛优瘫
一张葛优的剧照也能被网友最大程度地利用。照片中，葛优倚靠在沙发上，那生无可恋的表情，似乎与网友们内心产生了些许共鸣。于是，网红诞生了。
Originally from a China’s popular TV show I Love My Family（《我爱我家》）, the decades-old photo of the Chinese comedian Ge You slouching has spawned a wave of humorous reinterpretations and imitations online. As the representative sitting position of Beijingers, it is also dubbed the Beijing Slouch.
这张十几年前的旧剧照来源于曾经流行一时的电视剧《我爱我家》，照片中喜剧演员葛优的瘫卧姿势引起了网上的重新解读和模仿浪潮。这个姿势也是北京人的一种独特坐姿，因此也叫作“北京瘫”。

Tricks 套路
这个词是一夜之间突然爆红的。似乎很多情形用它来解释都非常贴切，因此自然也很受网友欢迎。
If your girlfriend says, “When I was taking my medicine this morning, I heard some news…” Do not, under any circumstances, answer, “What news?” If you do, you, my friend, have just fallen into a trap. The next thing you’re likely to hear is, “Why didn’t you ask me why I was taking medicine? You don’t care about me!”
如果你女朋友说：“早上我吃药时听到一些消息……”千万不要回答：“什么消息？”如果这么说了，你就落套了。接下来你将听到的是：“为什么不问我怎么吃药了？你根本不关心我！”
A slightly longer version of this relationship trap went viral online, and many victims of this scheme reached for a new, emerging phrase: Less strategy, more sincerity!
一个比这个段子稍长的恋爱故事在网上走红，许多被落套的受害者开始用“少一点套路，多一点真诚”来表达自己的心情。
“套路”一词的翻译比较灵活，它有methods（方法）, tricks（诡计）, strategies（策略）, schemes（阴谋计划），特别是clichéd schemes（老套的阴谋计划）等意思，在不同语境中可以采用不同译法。

来源是一段流传于网上的视频，视频中稍带口音的“难受想哭”与“蓝瘦香菇”神似，也引发了网友的热传热议。
This all originate to a young man from Nanning who uploaded a video clip online to express his sad feelings on a bad date he had earlier that day. He repeatedly murmured how bad he feels at the moment and wants to cry in local dialect. And he continued to ask why it.
这一切都源自于一个南宁小伙上传了一段视频在网络上来表达他当天悲伤的心情。他用南宁方言反复嘀咕他很难受，很想哭。他一直问为什么……为什么……
But to the opposite, you just can't stop laughing after watching it because it does sound like he's kept saying "skinny blue mushroom".
但是相反，你看了以后会忍不住大笑，满脑子只剩下魔性的声音“蓝瘦，香菇”不停的重复。
不过，skinny blue mushroom这个直译大概没多少人能听懂，所以再提供一些意译的方案：
Unbearable, I want to cry.
