探究一 动词不定式表目的用法
例句: To get there, I go along Long Street and turn left on North Street.
为了到那儿，我沿着长街走并在北街向左拐。（P48）
【探究点睛】
1. 这是一个含有动词不定式的句子，为了强调而把to do sth.提前。其实该句可以改为：
I go along Long Street and turn left on North Street to get there.
2. 动词不定式作状语，可表示目的、原因及结果等，其 逻辑主语就是句子的主语，因此动词不定式作状语往往用主动式。
Come to see me again soon.
尽快再来看我。
You couldn't do that to save your life.
你为了救自己也不能那样做。

探究二 watch sb. /sth. do sth.的用法
例句: We sometimes watch the neighbors’ cats climb the trees.

【探究点睛】
1. watch sb. /sth. do“观看某人/物做某事”，省略to的动词不定式do作宾语补足语，用来说明宾语的情况。
2.辨析 watch sb. /sth. do sth.与 watch sb. /sth. doing sth.
（1） watch sb. /sth. do sth.观看某人/物做某事（表示看见某人/物经常做或做过某事）
（2） watch sb. /sth. doing sth.观看某人/物正在做某事
Look! My brother is watching my sister playing with the pet dog.
看！我弟弟正在看我妹妹和宠物狗玩。
3.类似的词还有 hear, see, find, notice等。
I found him cleaning the room.
我发现他正在打扫房间。
