【学习目标】

1. Curriculum words:  fair, unfair

2. Useful expressions: do chores, for example, do one's homework, take out the rubbish, use one's computer, come back

3. Functions：能礼貌的提出要求；能向别人征询许可。

4. Grammar: 

① 能用could礼貌地提出要求    ② 能用could征询许可

5. Sentences：①—Could you please ...?  —Yes, Sure./Sorry, I can't ...

   ②—Could I ...?  —Yes, you can./ Sorry, you can't.

6. Writing：Write a letter to the Sunday Mail and express your opinion.

【学习重难点】

1．熟练使用本单元的重点单词、短语和句型完成写作任务。

2．To try to write your own opinions about whether children should do some chores at home.

 【课前积累】

一、词汇：

1. 公正的，合理的 ______   2. 不公正的 ______  3. 例如 _______

4. 做家务_______   5. 洗餐具 _______6. clean the living room       

7. make the bed _______8. fold clothes _______9. sweep the floor       

10. take out the rubbish _______                 

二、自行完成Self Check。

 【合作探究】

杂志Sunday Mail就“孩子在家应不应该做家务”这个话题征集稿件。请你写一篇英语短文向该杂志投稿。

(1) 体裁:议论文 

(2) 人称: 第一人称和第三人称

(3) 时态: 一般现在时

(4) 结构设计:

首先,开门见山地描述“青少年做家务”这一社会现象。

然后，明确表明自己的看法，是支持还是不支持。

接下来用表格中所给的句型结构, 论证自己的想法或原因。

在文章结尾部分, 总结归纳自己的观点。

（5）常用句式：

 1. Some parents think...

     I think children should not do chores because...

     I think/believe that...

     I agree/disagree that...

     I think it is fair/unfair for children to...

 2. Firstly, ... Secondly, ... Thirdly, ...

 3. In my opinion...

     In a word...

本文在表明观点后，需要阐述支撑观点的理由，为此，可以先用Here are three reasons来承上启下，使文章过渡自然。然后具体的理由可以用first, second, third来衔接，以使行文条理清晰、紧密相连。

（6）范文：

Dear Sir or Madam,

I think that doing housework is good for children. I disagree that doing chores at home is a waste of time. Doing chores helps to develop children's independence. And I think it's fair for children to help their parents do something at home, because their parents have to work hard all day, just the same as they have stress on study. Children these days need to get good grades and take good care of themselves as well.

I think children should share some housework with their parents, because it's a good way to learn how to look after themselves. For example, they should help their parents do some cooking, because when they are alone at home, they can get themselves something to eat.
