【知识探究】

探究一 tell的用法

A man told Yu Gong that he could never do it. 一个人告诉愚公他绝不可能把山移走。(P41)

【点睛】

tell意为“告诉，告知”，作及物动词。tell sb. (that)… 意为“告诉某人……”，tell sb. sth. /tell sth. to sb. 意为“告诉某人某事”，tell sb. (about sth.)意为“告诉某人（关于……）”。tell还可意为“命令；吩咐”，用于tell sb. to do sth. 结构。

【拓展】

1. say意为“讲；说”，强调说话内容。say+说话内容。如：

Say it in Chinese please. 请用汉语说。

2. speak意为“说；讲”，其宾语常是某种语言。如：

He can speak French. 他会讲法语。

3. talk意为“讲；谈论；谈话”，是不及物动词，常用于talk to/ with sb. about sth. 如：

He is talking with Tom about the film. 他和汤姆正在谈论这部电影。

探究二 remind的用法

This story reminds us that you can never (know/ see) what’s possible unless you try to make it happen. 这个故事提醒我们如果你不尽力去做就不会（知道/看见）什么是可能的。(P42)

【点睛】

remind意为“提醒；使想起”。

remind sb. + that从句意为“提醒某人……”。如：

Please remind me that I must water the flowers before noon. 请提醒我必须在中午之前浇花。

【拓展】

1. remind sb. of sth. 意为“使某人想起（类似的人、地方、事物等）”。如：

The five-star red flag reminds me of my motherland. 五星红旗使我想起了我的祖国。

2. remind sb. to do sth. 意为“提醒某人去做某事”。如：

A student should always remind himself not to be late for class. 学生应当总是提醒自己上课不要迟到。
