探究三、仔细观察P25 1a图片中三个人以前和现在的样貌，用used to be和used to do造句。

【发现】描述一个人以前的外貌或性格时，经常用形容词。在使用used to这个句型时，要注意它的后面不能直接加形容词。used to其后需要接动词原形，to是不定式符号，因此在形容词前面还要加be才行。

【词汇详解】
1）humorous adj. 幽默的；诙谐的 n. humor
humorous指有意识地产生一种轻松可笑的效果，用作定语和表语。
2）silent adj. 安静的；不吵闹的；沉默的；无言的 n. silence
silent的基本意思是“寂静的，无声的”。引申可作“沉默的，只字不提的”。silent还可以作“不发音”讲。拓展：辨析silent, clam, peaceful, quiet, still
① clam指风平浪静，修饰环境。
② peaceful指没有战争或骚乱。
③ quiet指性情温和、安静等，有时也指人的懒散或不活动。
④ still指“一动不动”。
⑤ silent侧重“沉默，不说话”，但不一定不动。
3）helpful adj. 有帮助的；有用的
4）score n.& v. 得分；进球
