【学习目标】

1.引导学生学习新词汇humorous,silent,helpful,score及used to的用法。

2.指导学生用used to描述自己或他人过去常常做的事情及自己或他人在外表、性格、兴趣等方面所发生的变化。

3.让学生明白事物是在不断发展、变化的道理,培养学生积极向上的心态。

4. 通过本单元的学习,让学生学会观察同一个事物或者人以前和现在的变化,让学生更加关注身边的美好事物。

【发现】描述一个人以前的外貌或性格时,经常用形容词。在使用used to这个句型时,要注意它的后面不能直接加形容词。used to其后需要接动词原形,to是不定式符号,因此在形容词前面还要加be才行。

【应用】根据要求说说自己从前的样子。

【词汇详解】

1)humorous adj. 幽默的;诙谐的  n. humor

humorous指有意识地产生一种轻松可笑的效果,用作定语和表语。

2)silent adj. 安静的;不吵闹的;沉默的;无言的  n. silence

silent的基本意思是“寂静的,无声的”。引申可作“沉默的,只字不提的”。silent还可以作“不发音”讲。拓展:辨析silent, clam, peaceful, quiet, still

① clam指风平浪静,修饰环境。

② peaceful指没有战争或骚乱。

③ quiet指性情温和、安静等,有时也指人的懒散或不活动。

④ still指“一动不动”。

⑤ silent侧重“沉默,不说话”,但不一定不动。

3)helpful  adj. 有帮助的;有用的

4)score  n.& v. 得分;进球

【词汇应用】

   这部剧是如此的幽默以至于观众一直笑。(作表语)
