It was one of the most moving pieces of music that I’ve ever heard.

The music was written by Abing, a folk musician who was born in the city of Wuxi in1893.

It is a pity that only six pieces of music in total were recorded for the future world to hear.

by the end of …意为“到….结束时;在…之前”,by为介词“不迟于、在..之前”

辨析:

by the end of

用于表示时间的场合,往往含有“不迟于”的意味,指一个时间段。

at the end of

其后接具体的时间或场所。表示时间,指具体的一个时间点

1) pity 名词,意为“遗憾、可惜”其前通常加不定冠词a. 其用法如下:

pity n.,还可意为“怜悯、同情”是不可数名词。做“遗憾、可惜”讲时,其前常加不定冠词a

2) in total 意为“总共,合计”

我们合计花了5000元钱。
