Hotel worker found with COVID-19 in Huadu district 花都发现1例无症状感染者！

2020年10月15日，广州市花都区对隔离酒店工作人员进行定期检查，发现1例新冠无症状感染者，系花都区入境人员隔离酒店欣园酒店工勤人员。根据流行病学调查和实验室检测结果，专家初步判断与境外输入病例相关联。

A man surnamed Wang, who is a worker at a designated quarantine hotel for inbound travelers, was detected with COVID-19 in Huadu district in Guangzhou, provincial capital of Guangdong, on Thursday (October 15).

The 40-year-old man works in the city's Xinyuan Hotel (欣园酒店), Furong Resort (芙蓉度假村) in Huadu district, where overseas arrivals undergo concentrated quarantine. He used to live in the staff dormitory of the hotel, according to a statement released by the district's health bureau today (October 16).

The man tested negative for coronavirus on October 5 in a routine nucleic acid testing (NAT) for hotel staff, but the result turned positive on October 15 in another round of regular tests. He was diagnosed as an asymptomatic carrier on October 16 and sent to Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for treatment.

He is in stable condition and has no symptoms, the statement said. Experts said his infection may be linked to imported cases.

By Friday noon, 68 close contacts with Wang have been isolated for further medical observation. Results of nucleic acid testing were negative for 66 out of the 68 contacts, while those of the other two had not come out by Friday noon, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Huadu district government has launched a further investigation covering the working places and venues which Wang had visited. The main entrances and exits of Furong Resort have been closed to monitor personnel flow. A massive NAT campaign is underway in areas around the resort, including the Shiling (狮岭镇) and Huashan towns (花山镇).
