50+ academicians gather in Dongguan for GHMAS 粤港澳院士峰会在莞召开

2020粤港澳院士峰会暨第六届广东院士联合会年会于11月2日至4日在东莞成功举行。峰会以“科学引领跨界创新 融合发展”为主题，聚焦生物医药领域，彰显抗疫精神。来自中国科学院、中国工程院等单位的近60位院士及众多专家学者齐聚东莞，助力大湾区国际科技创新中心建设。

The 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Academician Summit and the 6th Guangdong Academician Federation Annual Summit convened in Dongguan on November 3rd. Focusing on fields like information technology, life and health, and new materials, the Summit, which invited more than 50 academicians to attend, promoted the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to become a global technological innovation center and a key cradle of strategic emerging industries.

A cooperation signing ceremony was also held between the Federation of Guangdong Academicians and Dongguan University of Technology, as well as between the academicians' groups and related companies.

At the opening ceremony, Liu Renhuai (academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, president of the Guangdong Academician Federation, and chairman of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Academicians and Experts Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance), said that the Federation would do its best to translate the cohesion of academicians and the appeal of talents into academic leadership and industry driving force.

During the Summit, Wang Enge (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and  Chairman of Board of Directors of the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory), Zheng Yongnian (dean and professor of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Global and Contemporary China from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen)), as well as other academicians, respectively gave speeches on topics such as new materials, transforming scientific results, and new medical research.

A series of activities

A series of activities such as the AI Health Leadership Summit, IBT Major Innovation Achievement Briefing, Anti-epidemic Academicians conference & Exhibition, Bay Area Science & Technology Dialogue were also held during the Summit.

Guided by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the People's Government of Guangdong Province the Summit is co-hosted by the Federation of Guangdong Academicians and the People's Government of Dongguan City.
