“And Slowly - Lu Mei Painting Exhibition” is displayed in Dongguan Library. The paintings in this exhibition epitomize women's rich and colorful daily life and their tranquil and calm state of mind, with cheongsam as the epitome. Lu Mei has incorporated the architectural elements such as Sai Kwan Mansion and Building overhang with the south of the Five Ridges characteristics in her creation, integrating regional cultural symbols and historical accumulation into the paintings, expressing people’s understanding of comfortable life and their perception of the good life.

2022 Ukiyo-e International Art Exhibition

“2022 Ukiyo-e International Art Exhibition”, the first Ukiyo-e art exhibition in Dongguan, 100 Ukiyo-e paintings, including two of the most famous series: “Thirty-six Scenes of Fugaku” (《富岳三十六景》) by Katsushika Hokusai (葛饰北斋) and “Fifty-three Times of Tokaido” (《东海道五十三次》) by Kagawa Hiroshige (歌川广重), will be exhibited to showcase the artistic characteristics and creation techniques of the heyday of Ukiyo-e and to vividly recreate the scenery and customs of Japan during the Edo period.

Samsara – Yang Maoyuan Art Prints Exhibition

“Samsara” depicts extinct and endangered animals. Yang MaoYuan rubbings the images of animals on paper with ashes burned by plants and trees mixed with toner. In his emotional world, these animals are not dead but have become a lingering wound in history. The art prints express Yang Maoyuan’s sympathy for the animals and remind humans to treat them well.
