BMC Microbiology 的编辑近日宣布推出了两个新的版块，即：微生物组和微生物生物技术，以适应微生物学研究领域的不断发展。

微生物组 Microbiome

本版块欢迎有关微生物组的基础和临床研究方面的成果，包括但不限于肠道和组织微生物组，人类、动物、植物及环境微生物组。本版块也欢迎有关宿主-微生物相互作用以及微生物组对疾病发生、预后和治疗影响的研究成果。同时，关于微生物组研究方法学进展的文章也将是这一版块的关注点。

微生物生物技术 Microbial biotechnology

本版块欢迎在抗病性、食品技术、发酵、代谢工程、生物催化等方面关注细菌、真菌、酵母菌、寄生虫和藻类的遗传操作和合成生物学与系统生物学的研究论文。
