required education background: the candidate should have a b.s. degree or m.s. degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, or biomedical engineering.
international students should meet the english proficiency requirement. gre score is not required.

about the dong lab:
dr. xiaoguang dong is an assistant professor (webpage: https://engineering.vanderbilt.edu/bio/xiaoguang-dong) in the department of mechanical engineering, at vanderbilt university, nashville, tn, us. the research of dong lab will focus on three aspects: 1) the design, manufacture and control of miniature soft robots, and their applications in minimally invasive medicine, microfluidics and biomechanics. 2) the design, manufacture and control of miniature swarm robots, and their applications in biomedicine and biomechanics. 3) the modeling, design, manufacture and control of intelligent soft materials and devices based on mechanics model and machine learning.
