GSES(可持续生态系统与社会中的地理信息学)是由中国/美国联合举办的系列学术会议,由中美两国多所大学主办。

International Conference on
Geo-informatics in Sustainable Ecosystem and Society [GSES-2017]
Wuhan University, Wuhan, Hubei, CHINA
September 22-23, 2017
Introduction
GSES (Geo-informatics in Sustainable Ecosystem and Society) is an annual academic conference in a series held in China or in USA sponsored by multiple universities located in the two countries. Sustainable ecosystem and society has been a hot topic in recent years as more and more environmental and ecological issues continue to arise around the world. Ecosystems follow the concept that all elements continually interact with one another and with their environment to create complex systems with different emergent properties, for instance, "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" or "everything is connected". There are various ecosystems that are combined to form a complex natural or socio-ecological unit. Those ecosystems may include,
Agro-ecosystem
Atmosphere ecosystem
Forest ecosystem
Grassland ecosystem
Marine (aquatic) ecosystem
Urban ecosystem
It is agreed that only sustainable development of an ecosystem can provide satisfactory and multiple ecosystem services in the long run. One key milestone for attaining sustainable ecosystems is through advanced data acquisition and processing of all related elements contained in those ecosystems and intelligent analysis models that can take those elements to explain their interactions in reasonable ways.
GSES-2017 aims to bring researchers, engineers, and students to the areas of Geo-informatics in Sustainable Ecosystem and Society. GSES-2017 features unique mixed topics of spatial data acquisition, processing and management, modeling and analysis, and recent applications in the context of building healthier ecology and Resource Management using advanced remote sensing technology and spatial data modeling and analysis. The conference will provide a forum for sharing experiences and original research contributions on those topics. Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit their contributions to GSES-2017.
Call for Papers
GSES-2017 is the fifth annual academic conference in a series held between China USA sponsored by an agreement between multiple universities from China and USA. The conference attracts participants in a diverse range of fields, including geographic information science, geo-design, geo-sustainability studies, ecological and environmental sciences, resource management and policy, and sustainable urban and regional development and modeling. GSES-2017 continues the conference series’ unique blend of topics focusing on advances in earth observation, geo-spatial analysis and technologies and their applications in natural resource management and sustainable society.
Authors from around the world are welcome to gather at this international event. After the conference, special issues in several selected journals in GIScience, sustainability studies, urban and regional modeling, will be published based on topics from the conference, which include but are not limited to:
Track 1. Advanced spatial data acquisition and processing for earth observations
Track 2. Spatial modeling, spatial data mining and big-data analytics
