Aims and scope

European Journal of Remote Sensing publishes research papers and technical notes related to the use of remote sensing technologies. The Journal welcomes submissions on all applications related to the use of active or passive remote sensing to terrestrial, oceanic, and atmospheric environments. The most common thematic areas covered by the Journal include:

• land use/land cover

• geology, earth and geoscience

• agriculture and forestry

• geography and landscape

• ecology and environmental science

• support to land management

• hydrology and water resources

• atmosphere and meteorology

• oceanography

• new sensor systems, missions and software/algorithms

• preprocessing/calibration

• time series/change analysis

• data integration/merging/fusion

• image processing and analysis

European Journal of Remote Sensing is a fully open access journal. This means all submitted articles will, if accepted, be available for anyone to read. anywhere, at any time. immediately on publication. There are no charges for submission to this journal.

Journal information

• 2017 Impact Factor：1.122

• Founded in 1986, the Italian Association of Remote Sensing (AIT) is a non-profit scientific society that is involved in the theory and applications of remote sensing in Italy.

• The aim of the AIT is to promote the diffusion of remote sensing in Italy, linking together all of the different theoretical and application domains, with a particular emphasis on environmental applications.

• AIT governance is constituted by an elected President, a Steering Committee whose representatives are based around Italy, and an administration office based in Torino. The AIT is one of the founding members of ASITA (the Italian federation of scientific associations involved in environmental studies).

• EuJRS, the European Journal of Remote Sensing (formerly known as the Rivista Italiana di Telerilevamento/ Italian Journal of Remote Sensing), has been the official journal of the Italian Association of Remote Sensing since 2012 (and since 1993 as the Rivista Italiana di Telerilevamento). The journal is an online-only publication with a Gold Open Access policy.

• Published for scientists, practitioners and concerned communities, EuJRS contains scientific papers that cover topics across geomatics with a particular attention on remote sensing.

Call for Papers

The European Journal of Remote Sensing (EuJRS) invites a broad range of high quality original research articles, or review articles focused on Geoinformation and Earth Observation. Potential topics, but not limited to:

• Remote Sensing for sea, lakes and coastal environments and more in general for water monitoring

• Atmosphere monitoring, climate and meteorological applications

• Land use and land cover monitoring

• Remote Sensing for defense and security

• Sensors and platforms development for earth observation

• Proximal sensing and UAV

• Copernicus and new Sentinel missions

Methods:

• Methods and algorithms development for pre-processing and analysis of remotely sensed data from active and passive systems (optical, radar and LiDAR)

• Image and signal processing

• Interferometric methods for SAR data elaboration

• Methods for time series analysis

• Methods for the extraction and estimation of bio-physical variables

• Methods for data fusion and for the integration of information from multiple sources

• Spatial modelling and GIS applications based on Remote Sensing data

• Computation intensive systems and “big data” in Remote Sensing

Important Dates

• Full paper submission deadline: 31 December 2018

• Initial decisions on revisions or rejection: 31 April 2019

• Final manuscripts submitted to EuJRS: 15 November 2019

• Expected publication date: 31 December 2019

Articles will be available online approximately one month after acceptance, final technical review and the completion of revisions for compliance with journal format.
