Assistant Professor in Land Survey- ing/Geographic Information Technol-ogy/Nearsurface Geophysical Surve- ying on Underground Utilities
学系介绍：
The Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI) is widely considered as a centre of excellence in both education and research in Geomatics and related fields. The Department offers a range of academic programmes to both local and overseas students, including Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, Master of Science in Geomatics and Doctor of Philosophy.
LSGI has a very strong research programme that encompasses research activities in the areas of urban informatics, spatial big data analytics, geographical information science, satellite positioning, ubiquitous positioning, photogrammetry and remote sensing, geodesy and geod ynamics, environmental monitoring, geo-hazards studies, intelligent transport systems, smart city, utility system management, location-based services, geographical social science and near-surface geophysical survey.
There are currently 23 academic staff, 11 supporting members, and over 50 research staff and PhD students in the Department. The total student number is over 500. LSGI has a number of well-equipped research and teaching laboratories.

The Department is seeking highly motivated and suitably qualified individual with research expertise in one of the following areas:
Land Surveying,
Geographic Information Science,
Spatial Data Science, and Near-surface Geophysical Surveying on Underground Utilities.
职位描述：
The appointee will be required to:
(a) conduct research in related areas and contribute to the development of the Department’s strategic research area of urban informatics, and its corresponding research direction in Spatial Big Data Modelling and Analytics, Smart Positioning and Mobility, and Urban Sensing and Measurement;
(b) initiate, lead, and participate in scholarly research in his/her area of expertise and be active in research leading to quality journal publications and in bidding for external research grants and projects;
(c) undertake teaching duties in relevant subject areas at undergrad- uate and postgraduate levels;
(d) participate in programme/curr- iculum planning, development and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes;
(e) supervise student research projects and theses;
(f) undertake relevant administrative duties; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates.
申请资格：
Applicants should:
(a) have a doctoral degree in relevant areas;
(b) have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research;
(c) have a proven track record in research and academic achievements;
(d) be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills and have good interpersonal skills;
(e) have the relevant research experience (as supported by evidence of research projects and outputs), with relevant teaching experience at tertiary level being an advantage; and
(f) demonstrate the potential for establishing significant externally funded research programmes.

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engage- ment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
