Welcome

Dear Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome to the International Conference on  Geomatics in the Big Data Era to be held on November 15-17, 2019 in Guilin, China.

As the Chairman of the Organizing Committee and the President of Guilin University of Technology, I would like to extend my sincere warm welcome to all of you as well as my gratitude to the units whose full supports have made this conference possible.

As "Big Data" is changing the world tremendously nowadays, Geomatics is consequently forming new characteristics with millions of sensor devices which have altered traditional processing methods from "bring data to users" to "bring users to data" in an innovative way. This is making Geomatics become multidisciplinary science and technology in spatio-temporal data collection, information extraction, network management, knowledge discovery, spatial perception cognition, intelligent location services, and so on.

Thereby, in order to nurture and facilitate international collaboration and academic exchanges on Geomatics, we'd like to have the International Conference on  Geomatics in the Big Data Era be a platform for experts, scholars and users from all around the world to get together to exchange their latest research, to share successful experiences, to study the academic and technical developments, to show world-class and latest technology systems and equipment in Geomatics as related manufacturers and companies around the world will also participate in the conference.

There is an ancient famous Chinese saying, "How Happy We Are to Have Friends from Afar", I would say that this Conference will not only be about creating a platform for us to exchange and share our research, but also about giving us a chance to know each other as friends in this beautiful city of Guilin.

Guilin, the host city, is a world-renowned tourist city with over 2,000 years of glorious history. It earns its fame as it is abundant with green hills, clear water, fantastic caves and spectacular rocks, it has become a top destination within the Chinese tourism industry. We are looking forward to seeing you in this gorgeous place and wish you a happy stay in Guilin.

With the best regards,

Sincerely,

Qinglin Xie
Chairman, Organizing Committee
