COORDINATOR

Ms. YIN Zhiyin As the Coordinator of IMSA, I have worked with different executive committees of this association and have always been proud to act in my capacity. I’m also looking forward to working with the new team of executives as they show great promise in leading the association to even greater heights. "

PRESIDENT

Sieglinde Somses a first year Master Meteorology student.
"I am honored to serve the NUIST community in this capacity which seems both daunting and exciting at the same time. IMSA is the umbrella body for international students of all meteorology majors within the CIS and it is a platform for sharing educational information within our fields in a fun and educative way. Stepping into the position within which my predecessor Ms. Suelly left the bar quite high, all the new executives has to do is to stoke the fire and keep it burning. That said, I am calling on all dormant members of IMSA to make their voices be heard. We can only reach greater heights if we pull together."

VICE PRESIDENT: Hello everyone! I’m Pasindu Liyanage. You guys can easily remember my name if you have heard the song “Despacito” before. I’m from Sri Lanka and a first-year bachelor student in Applied Meteorology. Being the new Vice President of the IMSA gives me lots of responsibilities because IMSA is for every International student who is related to the Meteorology major, therefore, IMSA must play a big role in NUIST-CIS since NUIST is famous as a Meteorological major related university in China. As an executive member in the family of IMSA, I will do my best with my President, Secretary and Treasurer to uplift our great family in 2018/2019-year period. Thank you and long live IMSA.

TRESURER

Hi, I am Dinesh from Sri Lanka. A Bachelor student in Applied Meteorology. I will be taking the duties as the Treasurer of IMSA for the 2018–2019 academic year. Some of you know me, but a lot of you probably don’t. For those who don’t, you should. I am pretty awesome. Seriously, come say hi. I don’t bite. I am very responsible, organized, detail-oriented, and can rock an excel spreadsheet. All of which I believe are important to being an effective treasurer.

GENERAL SECRETARY: I am Nakiwala Esther .K from Uganda “The Pearl of Africa,” pursuing a MSc. in Applied Meteorology, first year. It is with great pleasure to play a central role as the General Secretary of IMSA, 2018/2019. I am glad and excited to be part of a great team and family that brings CIS students from Meteorology and related fields together to share knowledge and lasting experiences. We encourage and look out for each other through adding value to what we study and building of our career. People say that there is a lot for me to do but I pledge to take that as an inspiration and who knows, why I am at NUIST at a time such as this? I am up for the challenge. It’s not done until it’s noted down…. In IMSA, every moment counts and worth recording down.
