12月8日,吉庆年年——全球吉庆生肖设计大赛邀请展(甲辰龙年)开幕式暨颁奖仪式在北京市海外文化交流中心文化空间成功举办。北京市文化和旅游局一级巡视员庞微、中央美术学院院长助理潘承辉出席颁奖仪式并为全球吉庆生肖设计大赛(甲辰龙年)获奖者颁奖。大赛评委、参展艺术家、获奖设计师以及媒体记者等嘉宾共同出席活动。
On December 8, the opening ceremony and award presentation of the “Year In Year Out: Global Zodiac Design Competition” Invitational Exhibition (Year of the Dragon) were successfully held at the Cultural Space of Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center (BOCEC). Pang Wei, Level I Bureau Rank Official of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and Pan Chenghui, Assistant to President of Central Academy of Fine Arts, attended the award ceremony and presented awards to the winners of the Global Zodiac Design Competition (Year of the Dragon). The event was attended by judges of the competition, participating artists, award-winning designers, and media reporters.

随着一曲由北京戏曲职业艺术学院师生带来的民族音乐《龙船》,颁奖仪式正式拉开帷幕。伴随着欢快的乐曲,庞微女士代表北京市文化和旅游局对出席活动的嘉宾致以热烈的欢迎,向中央美术学院表示了衷心的感谢。庞微女士指出,十二生肖文化是中华民族特有的传统和创造,是中华民族对世界文明的重大贡献,应当大力弘扬。全球吉庆生肖设计大赛是由北京市文化和旅游局与中央美术学院共同主办的品牌项目,自2014年举办以来已连续举办10届。在多年植根于中国生肖文化的基础上,我们积累了丰硕的、高水平的生肖文化设计成果,吸引和汇聚了一大批富有活力的艺术家,也为促进中国与世界文化的交融,实现文明互鉴、民心相通搭建了重要平台,全球吉庆生肖设计大赛已经成为一项具有重要国际影响力的文化活动。在此也诚挚地邀请海内外艺术家、从业者加入到我们的事业当中来,讲好中国故事,传播好中国声音,让世界了解中国,让中国走向世界。
The award ceremony officially commenced with the ethnic music piece “Dragon Boat” performed by students and teachers from the Beijing Opera Art’s College. Accompanied by cheerful melodies, Ms. Pang Wei extended a warm welcome on behalf of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism to all the guests attending the event, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Central Academy of Fine Arts. She emphasized that the Chinese zodiac culture, a unique tradition and creation of the Chinese nation, represents a significant contribution of the Chinese people to the world’s civilizations and should be vigorously promoted. The Global Zodiac Design Competition is a signature project jointly hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Since its inception in 2014, it has been held continuously for 10 editions. Building on efforts dedicated to promoting Chinese zodiac culture over the years, we have accumulated abundant and high-quality achievements in zodiac cultural design, attracting and bringing together a vibrant community of artists. The project has also served as an important platform for promoting the integration of Chinese and world cultures, facilitating mutual learning, and enhancing cultural exchange among people. As a result, the competition has evolved into a culturally significant international event. We cordially invite artists and professionals from home and abroad to join our cause, to tell compelling Chinese stories, spread the authentic voice of China, so as to let the world understand China better, and help China to effectively present itself on the global stage.

中央美术学院院长助理潘承辉表示,生肖文化是中华民族的赓续千年的瑰宝,承载着我们对美好生活的向往和对幸福未来的期许。全球吉庆生肖设计大赛(甲辰龙年)是一场弘扬中华传统文化、展示生肖文化魅力的盛会,为生肖文化的传承和发展注入新的活力。大赛收到的作品既充分展现了大众对于中华传统文化持久性的关注,亦展示了中华民族丰富的生肖文化内涵和艺术创造力。
Pan Chenghui, Assistant to President of Central Academy of Fine Arts, said that the zodiac culture is an age-old treasure of the Chinese nation, carrying Chinese people’s aspirations for a better life and hopes for a bright future. The Global Zodiac Design Competition (Year of the Dragon) is a grand event that promotes traditional Chinese culture and showcases the charm of the zodiac culture, injecting new vitality into its inheritance and development. The entries received by the competition not only fully demonstrate the enduring attention of the public to traditional Chinese culture but also display the rich cultural connotations of the Chinese zodiac and artistic creativity.

本届大赛,共收到来自4个大洲14个国家的4033件参赛设计作品。颁奖仪式上现场揭晓共计15个奖项的72件作品,由主办方领导及嘉宾为获奖设计师颁奖。其中,孙世前《长城龙》获得产品设计单元一等奖,刘钊工作室《二十四节气》获得三山五园专题设计单元一等奖,张毅《大红灯龙》获得平面设计单元二等奖。
In this edition of the competition, a total of 4,033 design entries from 14 countries across 4 continents were received. During the award ceremony, 72 pieces were unveiled under 15 award categories. The organizers and guests presented the awards to the winning designers. Among them, “Great Wall Dragon” by Sun Shiqian received the first prize in the product design category, “24 Solar Terms” by Liu Zhao Studio received the first prize in the “Three Mountains and Five Gardens” thematic design category, and “The Great Red Lantern Dragon” by Zhang Yi received the second prize in the graphic design category.

在接下来的作品展中,除上述获奖作品外,还展出历届获奖作品36件,并邀请了15位艺术家的29件艺术作品共同展出。墨西哥著名雕塑家赛巴斯蒂安的作品《Red Dragon》受邀参展,是此件艺术作品在中国的首次亮相。作者在简介中提到,红色的龙形装置表现出力量、光明与个性,就像中美洲的羽蛇神一样,象征着生命和变化的巨大力量。
In the upcoming exhibition, alongside the aforementioned award-winning pieces, 36 works from previous editions of the exhibition will be displayed, along with 29 art pieces by 15 invited artists. The artwork “Red Dragon” by Sebastian, a renowned Mexican sculptor, was invited to participate, marking its debut in China. In the introduction, the artist mentioned that the red dragon-shaped installation embodies strength, light, and character, akin to Quetzalcoatl in Mesoamerica, symbolizing the great force of life, and of transformation.

本次展览是历年展览中展出作品数量最多、种类最丰富的一场。获奖作品还将随2024年“欢乐春节”活动出访海外,在英国、芬兰、爱沙尼亚、希腊、德国、秘鲁等10个国家举办生肖设计图片展。
This year’s exhibition, among all its editions, showcases the largest number and most diverse range of artworks. The award-winning pieces will feature in Chinese zodiac-themed design image exhibitions in 10 foreign countries including the U.K., Finland, Estonia, Greece, Germany, and Peru, as part of the 2024 “Happy Chinese New Year” event.

活动现场,由北京市海外文化交流中心副主任王海茹代表大赛组委会正式发布了全球吉庆生肖设计大赛(乙巳蛇年)全球征集令。
2025年是中国农历乙巳蛇年。蛇的灵瑞、吉祥、神性,传达着人们对始祖、神灵的敬仰,表达着人们对美好、平安、幸福、富足生活的祈盼。全球吉庆生肖设计大赛将继续面向海内外专业院校、设计机构、设计师广泛征集生肖蛇设计作品,邀请国内外知名专家组成评审委员会,获奖作品将登陆更广泛的国际文化交流平台上进行展示和传播。
全球吉庆生肖设计大赛(乙巳蛇年)主要设置两个竞赛单元,分别为生肖蛇主题平面设计、多媒体及交互设计单元,生肖蛇主题产品设计单元,此外也会开设三山五园等主题设计系列。大赛官网将于2024年1月正式发布赛事详细信息,届时请登陆北京市海外文化交流中心官方网站查询。
At the event venue, Wang Hairu, Deputy Director of the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center, officially announced the global call for entries for the Global Zodiac Design Competition (Year of the Snake) on behalf of the competition’s organizing committee.
2025 marks the Chinese Year of the Snake. The snake symbolizes sensibility, auspiciousness, divinity, and conveys people’s reverence for ancestors and spirits, expressing hopes for a beautiful, peaceful, prosperous, and fulfilling life. The Global Zodiac Design Competition will continue to widely solicit Zodiac Snake-themed design works from professional institutions, design agencies, and designers globally. Renowned domestic and international experts will be invited to form the judging committee, and the winning entries will be showcased and promoted on a broader international cultural exchange platform.
The Global Zodiac Design Competition (Year of the Snake) mainly comprises two competition categories, namely, Zodiac Snake-themed Graphic Design, Multimedia & Interactive Design, and Zodiac Snake-themed Product Design. Additionally, thematic design series such as “Three Mountains and Five Gardens” will also be included. The official competition website will release detailed event information in January, 2024. This invitational exhibition was co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal People’s Government. It was organized by the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center and the Silk Road Art Research and Collaborative Innovation Center of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. The event was supported by institutions including the Yuanmingyuan Research Center of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Chinese Embassy in Belgium, the Chinese Embassy in Mexico, the National Arts Center of Mexico, the International Museum of Carnival and Mask of Binche in Belgium, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, Beihai Park, Haidian District Cultural Promotion Center, and Beijing University of Technology.
