As Sandra Weingort will tell you, bringing the home to life was nothing short of a  miracle. 

“2020 年 3 月 26 日，当房主联系我时，纽约市和世界上大部分地区一样，处于疫情封锁之下，”Sandra回忆道，承认她对远程工作的不确定性感到恐惧。

“On March 26, 2020, when the owner contacted me, New York City, like much of the world, was under a pandemic lockdown,” recalls Sandra, admitting that she was terrified of the uncertainty associated with working remotely. 

“我当时的第一个想法是，不去实地调研就接手这个项目是相当不负责任的行为。但[房主]说她“愿意冒任何风险与我合作”。我们成了朋友，现在对初次的谈话大笑不已。” 

“My first thought was that it would be  quite irresponsible to take on this project without even visiting it. But [the client] said she was ‘willing to take any risk to be able to work with me.’ We became friends and now laugh about that initial conversation.” 

Sandra 将客厅变成了一个奇珍异宝阁，收藏了许多来自世界各地的特色手工艺品及家具单品——沙色的扶手椅、传统日式木椅、椭圆形木制咖啡桌等。但她并没有就此止步。她还用 Mai-Thu Perret 的木制挂画和 Shabab Gallery 的拼色地毯装点空间，为空间增添了奇妙的艺术气息。

Sandra turned the living room into a treasure trove of gems sourced all over  the world—chief amongst them an brown armchair , a vintage Japanese stool , a coffee table and so on. But she didn’t stop there. She also decked out the room with a work by Mai-Thu Perret and a carpet from Shabab Gallery to give the space a fantastically artful edge.

白色、原木贯穿了整个空间。一排排木制收纳柜一次排开，墙壁上的流线画如几尾幽竹，暗自悠动间，光影姗姗。与操作台上的青葱绿植相映成趣，怡然自得。

White and logs are widely used in the whole space. Rows of wooden storage cabinets are lined up , and the streamline paintings on the wall are like several bamboos, floating secretly, with light and shadow. It forms a pleasant contrast with the green plants on the console.

Dining Room

不远处，一张长长的老式餐桌，摆放着从当代艺术画廊淘得的花瓶，通体散发着柔和的光泽，引你沉浸到慢而简单的节奏中。

A little way away, a long vintage dining table, with vases from modern art gallery, exudes a gentle patina that summons you to a slowe and simple pace. 

Sergio Rodrigues 设计的木椅围绕着它，而白色的墙上，一排简洁的艺术挂画其次排开，除此之外，再无赘饰。这证实了一个长期以来的猜想——这所房子确实是一个记忆盒子，以统一的精神涵纳新旧。

With chairs by Sergio Rodrigues surrounding it, and a row of photos on the wall ahead, it confirms a long-held suspicion—that the house is indeed a memory box that embraces the old and the new in equal  spirit.

Bedroom

卧室的氛围柔和而恬静。以清浅的米色、柔粉、淡绿、暖橙色装饰空间。除基本床品外，内置挂画、瓶花等元素丰富空间。

The atmosphere in the bedroom is soft and quiet.  The space is decorated with light beige, soft pink, light green and warm orange. In addition to the basic bedding, the built-in hanging paintings, flowers and other elements are used to enrich the space.

Bathroom

Take a good shower

浴室设有银色衣物收纳柜。洗手台以白色大理石做台面，木色柜体作储物之用。墙上镶有两面不规则曲面镜，顶上悬挂一白色吊灯。整体简约而舒适。

The bathroom is equipped with silver clothes storage cabinet. The wash table is made of white marble, and the wooden cabinet is used for storage. The wall is inlaid with two irregular curved mirrors, and a white chandelier is hung on the top. The atmosphere is simple and comfortable.

对于设计师来说，设计仅意味着一件事——“一切都要显而易见、简约、考究且淳朴自然，正如房主本人一样。”

For the designer, then, the design meant only one thing—that “everything be obvious, simple, discreet and unpretentious, just like the owner herself.”

Becoming Better

这处位于Sag Harbor 的居所，

从自然中捕获灵感。

以天然的材质，柔和的色彩，

来唤醒自然。

它和谐统一而充满悖论，

等待着有缘之人的品临。
