尊敬的格林福德国际物流公司总裁许群女士，

女士们、先生们：

大家晚上好！

福汇百川，德济四海。今晚很高兴出席格林福德国际物流公司举办的苏丹-中国快线首航仪式。首先，我要对苏丹-中国快线开通表示热烈祝贺！并预祝中波轮船大西洋号首航一帆风顺、圆满成功！

中苏两国人民长期友好、情深谊重。苏丹是中国在非洲重要的贸易和投资伙伴，两国经贸往来频繁、成果丰硕，苏丹-中国快线的开通，是中苏经贸合作的又一盛事、喜事。苏丹-中国快线开辟了中苏海上货物运输的新通道，实现了两国人民和企业多年的心愿，将大幅缩短两国间货物往来时间，有力促进中苏经贸供应链畅通和物流合作，必将广泛惠及两国和两国人民。

凡益之道，与时偕行。格林福德公司在苏丹布局直航货运快线，展示了公司的长远战略眼光。苏丹位于非洲东北部，红海西岸，具有独特的地缘优势，与七个国家毗邻，是非洲邻国最多的国家之一，并与沙特、也门等国隔海相望，苏丹素有“非洲走廊”之誉，是连接非洲大陆腹地的纽带，也是辐射地中海、西亚与南欧的枢纽。东北沿海的苏丹港是苏丹唯一对外贸易港口，也是非洲内陆邻国重要的出海口，还是中国通航非洲最近的港口之一，自古就是中国商品通往非洲的重要通道，苏丹政府将港口周边作为对外开放和产业升级的重要区域。中苏双方在海运方面合作潜力巨大，前景广阔。

我们希望格林福德公司能够充分利用苏丹及苏丹港的区位优势，做大做强苏丹-中国快线业务，并积极参与苏方临港经济建设，推进中苏两国以能矿和农牧业为核心的全产业链合作，助力苏丹经济社会民生改善，为促进中苏友好合作关系发展贡献力量。

各位朋友，

无论是古丝绸之路的驼铃帆影，还是航海时代的劈波斩浪，交通都是经济的动脉和文明的纽带。我相信，苏丹-中国快线这条耗时短、效率高的绿色安全通道，不仅在中苏两国之间架起一座新的合作之桥，也必将进一步促进中苏文化交流，推动文明互鉴，增进两国人民的传统友谊。

潮起海天阔，扬帆正当时。祝愿格林福德公司的事业蒸蒸日上！祝愿公司货轮在中苏间乘风破浪，满载而来、满载而归！

Set Sail at the Perfect Time

--- Remarks by Ambassador Ma Xinmin at the Maiden Voyage Ceremony of the Sudan-China Express Shipping Service of Greenroad International Logistics

Your Excellency Mr Hisham Abuzaid，Minister of Transport，

Ms. Xu Qun, Chief Executive Officer of Greenroad International Logistics,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Good evening.

It is a great pleasure to meet you at the maiden voyage ceremony of the Sudan-China Express shipping service held by Greenroad International Logistics. To begin with, I wish to offer my warm congratulations to the launch of the Sudan-China Express shipping line. I also wish Chipolbrok Atlantic a safe and successful voyage.

As we know, the Chinese and Sudanese peoples have an enduring and deep bond of friendship. Sudan is China’s important trading and investment partner in Africa. Over the years, our frequent economic and trade exchanges have yielded fruitful results. The successful rollout of the Sudan-China Express shipping service is definitely another big and joyous moment in the history of our economic and trade cooperation. As a new freight link between China and Sudan, this long-expected shipping line will shorten significantly the time for transporting goods between the two sides. This will help keep supply chains unclogged for our economic and trade activities and boost bilateral cooperation in logistics, thus delivering extensive benefits to the two countries and peoples.

There is an ancient Chinese teaching: All good principles should adapt to changing times to remain relevant. Greenroad’s operation of this direct shipping service in Sudan shows its strategic long-term vision. Located in the northeast of Africa and on the western border of the Red Sea, Sudan has a unique geographic advantage. It borders seven countries, among the highest in Africa, and faces Saudi Arabia and Yemen across the sea. Sudan earns the name of the “African corridor” for its role as a link to the hinterland of the African continent and a hub for the Mediterranean, West Asia and Southern Europe. Port Sudan, the country’s sole foreign trade port located on the northeast coast, is a crucial gateway for those landlocked neighbors in Africa. It is also one of the closest African ports for China and has been a major channel for shipping Chinese goods to Africa since ancient times. As the Sudanese government has made areas around the port an important region for opening-up and industrial upgrading, our bilateral cooperation in the shipping sector will have broad prospects and enormous potential.

We hope Greenroad will fully leverage the geographic advantages of Sudan and Port Sudan to make the Sudan-China Express shipping service bigger and stronger. It is also important for Greenroad to actively participate in Sudan’s economic construction of local areas adjacent to the Red Sea and foster the whole-industrial-chain bilateral cooperation centered on energy, mineral resources and husbandry. Doing so is beneficial to boosting Sudan’s economic and social development and improving the wellbeing of its people, thus contributing to further progress of China-Sudan friendship and partnership.

My friends,

Either in the forms of camel caravans and sailing boats on the ancient Silk Road or wave-breaking vessels in the Age of Exploration, transport has always been the mainstay of a country’s economy and the bond connecting different civilizations. I am convinced that the Sudan-China Express freight link, a time-efficient and safe fast track for shipping business, will serve as a new bridge for cooperation between our two countries. What’s more, I believe it will promote cultural exchanges between the two sides, mutual learning between the two cultures, and traditional friendship between the two peoples.

Let me quote a Chinese saying to conclude my remarks. It is the perfect time to set sail when the tide rises. Wish Greenroad a prosperous future. Wish the vessel a rewarding and fruitful journey between China and Sudan.
