2018画廊周北京参展机构——杨画廊 Gallery Yang

今年,杨画廊将第二次加入画廊周北京的参展阵容,带来由崔灿灿策划的艺术家张玥个展 “山鹰之歌 ”。
In 2018, Gallery Yang will be participating the Gallery Weekend Beijing for the second time , bringing artist Zhang Yue's solo exhibition "If I Could" , curated by Cui Cancan.

杨画廊创建于2010年, 位于北京798艺术区。画廊主要代理中国年轻的当代艺术家,先后合作的艺术家有闫冰、陈卓、孔令楠、詹翀、林科、厉槟源、张玥、徐文恺、宗宁、曾宏、张新军、董大为、沈瑞筠、范西、杨淞、吕松等。至今, 杨画廊每年平均有七个常规展,同时有根据空间特殊结构设置的部分实验性项目和艺术交流活动。 其中闫冰“我的劳动”、厉槟源“我有病”“水源地”、董媛“万物生: 姥姥家与博斯的乐园”、黎薇“感谢上帝”、林科“L in K”、张玥“不明真相”、宗宁“落水狗”、董大为“普通读者”、沈瑞筠“层见迭,节外生”、杨淞“木艮土”、曾宏“肥皂”等展览在专业领域和社会层面上都获得不同程度的反响和讨论。 2011-2014年与策展人鲍栋合作的 “绘画课” 系列群展对架上绘画课题提供了多角度的思考和梳理, 共有34位艺术家参与其中。2013-2015年与策展人崔灿灿合作的个展个案,其强烈的布展 42 35448 42 14940 0 0 4900 0 0:00:07 0:00:03 0:00:04 4901语言和话题效应使项目具有了鲜明风格。 2014年起杨画廊受邀参加了纽约军械库艺术展、香港巴塞尔艺术展等, 其中闫冰的“我的工具”和梁硕的“费特”艺术项目都被拍摄成独立纪录片进行推广。2016年夏,画廊搬迁,空间面积约1000平方米。除提供常设展览外,还增设了项目单元,至今已推出了由张营营策划的“胡庆泰个人项目”与“刘亚洲:轨迹”。


Gallery Yang was founded in 2010 in Beijing’s 798 Arts District; it primarily represents young Chinese artists whose practices are in dialogue with the field of contemporary art.  Since the gallery’s inception, it has collaborated with artists such as Yan Bing, Chen Zhuo, Kong Lingnan, Zhan Chong, Lin Ke, Li Binyuan, Zhang Yue, Xu Wenkai (aaajiao), Zong Ning, Zeng Hong, Zhang Xinjun, Dong Dawei, Ruijun Shen, Fan Xi, Yang Song, and Lü Song.  Gallery Yang presents seven exhibitions on average per year, as well as experimental projects and a conversation series that engage the unique aspects of its space.  Among its past exhibitions, Yan Bing’s “My Labor,” Li Binyuan’s “I Have Issues” and “Headwaters,” Dong Yuan’s “A Short History of Everything: Grandma’s House and Bosch’s Garden,” Li Wei’s “Thank God,” Lin Ke’s “L in K,” Zhang Yue’s “You Miss the Truth,” Zong Ning’s “Reservoir Dogs,” Dong Dawei’s “The Common Reader”, Ruijun Shen’s “Reflections, as Rhizomes”, Yang Song’s “Askr Yggdrasils”, and Zeng Hong’s “Unknown Form” were well-received and catalyzed discussions among the art world and general public alike.  From 2011 to 2014, Gallery Yang and curator Bao Dong collaborated on the exhibition series “Painting Lessons,” which provided reflections on and ideas about easel painting from multiple angles with works by 34 different artists.  From 2013 to 2015, Gallery Yang and curator Cui Cancan produced a solo exhibition program, whose strong themes and language of exhibition installation enabled the projects to pioneer original styles. Beginning in 2014, Gallery Yang has been invited to participate in international art fairs such as the Armory Show and Art Basel in Hong Kong and to have two of its projects, Yan Bing’s “My Tools” and Lian Shuo’s “Fit,” be featured in independent documentaries.  In the summer of 2016, Gallery Yang moved to a new location of nearly 1000 square meters, where, in addition to providing permanent exhibitions, Gallery Yang has also added the project unit. It has launched Hu Qingtai's Solo Project and Liu Yazhou: Track/ Locus, both curated by Zhang yingying.

杨画廊将于2018年3月23日推出张玥的第二个个展 “山鹰之歌 ”,策展人是崔灿灿,展期到2018年5月13日。


2014年于杨画廊的首个展览“不明真相”,告知了张玥有在监狱服刑的经历,且展览的第一件作品也由此开始:用画记录在里面的生活片段。目前与监狱有关的项目有:“封锁”“监狱服刑人员行为规范”“2003051420070427”“狱内违禁品”“高潮档案”“绘画计划”。监狱作为社会的一个极端缩影,促成张玥第一次重要价值观的重建,他通过记录、观察、参与、反思,借用艺术的通道进行整理与发表。其中,作品《银鲑鱼00001》(2013)有对这条鱼的精子干细胞进行设定,对生命旅程重要节点的描述,到最后被捕获制成各种产品的详尽介绍。张玥以研究者的方法去尝试建立个体生命的档案,其中涉及到生物学、物理学、海洋学、工程学、历史学等。这件作品是张玥以自我为单位的研究者身份的开始,之后经过一年时间完成的《张玥的白色全书》,以潘通国际制色原理为基础,对收集的8136种白进行更精细的目测分析,这份手绘的白色全书实际是一部编年史式的作品。2015年的项目“缅北战事”中,张玥的切身经历是他之后要做的一系列事情的一个重要引发点。他以自我实践的方式在探求我们被告知的历史与现实的真实性,并逐步建立他所能见、所能达的世界观。


Artist Zhang Yue's second solo exhibition “If I Could” , curated by Cui Cancan, will be opened at Gallery Yang on March 23rd, 2018. This exhibition will be available till May 13, 2018.


“You Miss the Truth”, Zhang‘s first solo exhibition (Gallery Yang,  2014), informed us the fact that Zhang had served a sentence in prison. And its first work was also induced by that fact: daily fragments in prison recorded via paintings. Hitherto,  his prison-related projects include: “Blockade”,  “Prisoner Code of Conduct”,  “2003051420070427”, “The Never Items in Jail”, “The Archives of Orgasm”, and “Painting Project”. The prison as a miniature of the society stimulated the artist’s first important reconstruction of values: he observed, recorded, participated, reflected, and organized and published the results in the form of art. In his work “Silver Salman 00001” (2013),  the sperm stem-cell of the fish is stipulated,  its pivotal life nodes are described, and how it was made into various products after capture are detailed. Using methods of a researcher, Zhang tried to construct a dossier of an individual organism, which involved biology, physics, oceanography, engineering, history, etc. And "Various Kinds of White by Zhang Yue" is the work that proclaimed the birth of Zhang the researcher of self. In the course of a year, he laboriously analyzed 8136 kinds of whiteness he collected, using the method of eye-estimating and the principle of Pantone Code. In fact, this encyclopedia of whiteness is a work of chronological history. In his 2015 project "About the War in Northern Myanmar", his personal experience is a vital catalyst for a series of things he did afterwards. In the form of personal practice, he explored the truth or falsity of the history and reality we are informed,  and step by step, constructed a world view as he sees and attains.

ABOUT THE ARTIST


张玥,1985年生于山东济南。其个展有:不明真相(杨画廊,北京,中国,2014);个人项目有:缅北战事(杨画廊,北京,中国,2015)。也曾参加由21世纪国家艺术博物馆(意大利罗马)、白兔美术馆(澳大利亚悉尼)、北京民生现代美术馆、今日美术馆、凯尚画廊(美国纽约)、白盒子艺术馆、大未来林舍画廊(台北)及佩斯画廊等机构举办的群展。


Zhang Yue was born in Jinan in 1985. His solo exhibition includes You Miss the Truth (Gallery Yang, Beijing, China, 2014). His project includes: About the War in Northern Myanmar (Gallery Yang, Beijing , China, 2015). He has participated in group exhibitions at a number of institutions and galleries, including MAXXI Museum(Rome, Italy), White Rabbit Gallery (Sydney, Australia), Minsheng Art Museum (Beijing, China), Today Art Museum, Klein Sun Gallery (New York, America), Whitebox Art Center, LIN & LIN Gallery (Taipei, China), and Pace Gallery (Beijing, China).

崔灿灿,是一名活跃在中国的独立策划人,曾获CCAA中国当代艺术评论青年荣誉奖,《YISHU》中国当代艺术批评奖等;策划的主要展览包括:夜走黑桥(2013)、乡村洗剪吹(2013)、FUCKOFF II(2013)、不在图像中行动(2014)、六环比五环多一环(2015)、十夜(2016)等;曾策划的艺术家个展包括艾未未、夏小万、沈少民、王庆松、何云昌、萧昱、琴嘎、谢南星、史金淞、李占洋、许仲敏、马轲、夏星、赵赵、秦琦、李青、陈彧凡、陈彧君、厉槟源、冯琳、张玥、宗宁、姜波、牧儿等。


Cui Cancan is an active independent curator in China. He was awarded the CCAA China contemporary art review youth award, “YISHU” contemporary art review award. Curated theme exhibitions including HEIQIAO Night Away (2013), Countryside Fashion (2013), FUCKOFF II (2013), Unlived By What Is Seen (2014), Between the 5th and the 6th Ring Road in Beijing (2015), Ten Night (2016), etc. Curated solo exhibitions for many artists including Ai Weiwei, Xia Xiaowan, Shen Shaomin, Wang Qingsong, He Yunchang, Ma Ke, Xia Xing, Zhao Zhao, Qin Qi, Li Qing, Chen Yufan, Chen Yujun, Li Binyuan, Feng Lin, Zhang Yue, Song Ning, Jiang Bo, MUer, etc.
