Peking University Executive Leadership Appointment Announced

日前，中央批准：郝平同志任北京大学党委书记，不再担任北京大学校长职务；龚旗煌同志任北京大学校长（副部长级）、党委副书记；邱水平同志不再担任北京大学党委书记职务，另有任用。

Hao Ping, former president of Peking University, has been named the Secretary of the CPC Peking University Committee, and Gong Qihuang has been appointed the President of Peking University. Qiu Shuiping will no longer serve as the secretary of the CPC Peking University Committee.

The decision was announced by Li Xiaoxin, Deputy Head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform, during a meeting held at Peking University on June 17, 2022.

Huai Jinpeng, Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of the Ministry of Education and Minister of Education, and Sun Meijun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Head of the Organization Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended and addressed the meeting.

Hao Ping presided over the meeting.

Hao Ping

Hao Ping, born in 1959, is an alternate member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He once served as Vice President of Peking University, President of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Vice Minister and member of the Leading Party Group of the Ministry of Education, Director of the National Language Working Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University, and President of Peking University.

Gong Qihuang

Gong Qihuang, born in 1964, is a member of the Chinese Academy of Science. He once served as the Vice President and Executive Vice President of Peking University.
