XJTLU 西交利物浦大学 2023-06-13

During the past month, XJTLU was mentioned in media reports from domestic outlets including China Media Group (CMG), China Daily, China Youth Daily, Xinhua Daily, Yangtze Evening Post, Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, Modern Express Post and Suzhou Daily.

China will no longer issue employment registration forms for graduates from next year

Published on: 14 May 2022


Summary: From 2023, China will stop issuing employment registration forms for university graduates. The form is used for new hires’ checklist and household registration. Dr Bo Xie, Director of XJTLU’s Chinese Culture Teaching Centre, says this approach encourages flexible employment and entrepreneurship, and small and medium-sized enterprises need a large number of graduates.

Suzhou: a historical city looks for modern upgrading

Eating sea squirts may reverse the signs of ageing, study shows

Summary: Recently, researchers from XJTLU, Stanford University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences have reported that supplementing a diet with the sea organisms Ascidiacea, also known as sea squirts, reverses some of the main signs of ageing in an animal model.

Researchers use bacteria to enhance concrete resistance

Summary: Recently, researchers at XJTLU’s Department of Civil Engineering applied denitrifying bacteria to recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) and enhanced the concrete’s strength and durability. The treated RCAC can withstand 225 freeze-thaw cycles, which is 75 more than those without treatment, making it suitable for widespread usage in cold areas.
