In the article, he said that in the era of digitalisation, educators in China should take responsibility and boldly innovate. The goal is to develop a unique “Chinese solution” for future education, he said. According to Professor Xi, by encouraging collaboration, Chinese education can lead the establishment of an international industrial innovation ecosystem.

The study found that when grandparents provide high-quality care for children, it positively impacts the children’s socioemotional development.

Where did inflation go?

Summary: Dr Bo Jiang at International Business School Suzhou recently wrote an article in Caijing Magazine discussing the challenge of deflation in China following the pandemic. According to Dr Jiang, deflation is a crucial topic in current macroeconomic policies, and government can counter deflation by implementing an active fiscal policy and maintaining a loose monetary environment.

Focus on productivity | IoV industry accelerates, aiming for 100-Billion-RMB industrial cluster

Summary: Suzhou is an important hub for the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) industry in China, and it aims to become a 100-Billion-RMB industrial cluster.


In an interview with CUTV, Dr Dongyao Jia at XJTLU’s School of Advanced Technology highlighted Suzhou’s potential in collaborating with industry to further promote IoV. He also suggested strengthening industry-academia-research integration to tackle technical challenges in IoV, such as autonomous driving and intelligent transportation.

Summary: A student team from XJTLU’s School of Film and TV Arts participated in the China University Students Digital Media Technology Works and Creativity Competition. They won the national second prize and Jiangsu provincial first prize for their project “Cultural Tourism to Huqiu Scenic Area in the Metaverse.”

How innovative is China in the robotics industry?

Many companies, especially those outside of high-income countries, are willing to make a trade-off between cost and quality. The article quotes Dr Anwar Majeed at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) as saying: “It is worth noting that its products are estimated to be 30 percent cheaper than their European and Japanese counterparts allowing them to be more attractive to rising economies.”

Fourth MEGA International Creative Media Festival seeks submissions

XJTLU’s Academy of Film and Creative Technology hosts the annual global event to celebrate creative media, exhibitions, graphics, and art. The festival features its International Creative Media Competition; Film, New Media and Creative Technology Summit; and showcases for digital media arts. Summary: An article in Digital Trends reported that a popular VR headset does not include a feature that a recent study indicates will help prevent motion sickness. The study’s findings show that achieving a frame rate of 120fps is crucial in preventing dizziness. The research paper was co-authored by researchers from XJTLU and Purdue University in the US.

A rediscovery of past design for the future

Summary: Chinese ice-ray lattice, or “binglie” as it is called in Chinese, is an intricate pattern that looks like cracked ice and is a common decorative element used in traditional Chinese window designs.

Techno Blender published a story about a paper authored by Dr Iasef Md Rian, Associate Professor at XJTLU’s Design School, in Frontiers of Architectural Research. The paper explores the geometric qualities of ice-ray patterns and expands the possibilities of integrating random patterns into structural designs, especially the lattice shell design, which is often used in spherical domes and curved structures.

Revolutionizing cysteine-rich peptide production for drug discovery

Published on: 22 March 2024


Summary: News Medical has reported that chemists can now produce an important class of small proteins called cysteine-rich peptides in their naturally folded 3D structure more reliably and much faster, thanks to methods that mimic what happens inside cells. The advance, achieved by researchers at XJTLU and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, is published in the journal Angewandte Chemie.
