IFC’s EDGE Green Building Program (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) has been a highly successful initiative which includes work on mandatory green building codes and the launch of the simple, affordable voluntary EDGE certification program (see www.edgebuildings.com).
IFC’s EDGE green building certification system and free design application is central to the Program as a design tool, an educational aid, and an affordable certification method which can recognize different levels of ambition, right up to Zero Carbon emissions. IFC is currently recruiting a short-term consultant (STC) for managing and executing key activities under the program in China.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Business development activities to expand EDGE market in China;
Support key clients to convert their intended pipeline of EDGE projects and assist with smoothing out any certification challenges they may have in line with global EDGE protocol;
Liaise with certification partners on tracking registered, preliminary and final certifications against program targets;
Follow-up with certification partners on EDGE training schedule and planned EDGE events;
Support Green Building Lead in program activities to support the achievement of program targets.
Selection Criteria:
A master’s degree in business, economics, architecture, engineering, quantity surveying, or equivalent
Significant network in the property and/or financial real estate sector
In-depth knowledge of the green building market’s size, trends, stakeholders, policy environment, certification systems, and outlook
Experience with engaging and developing relationships with financial institutions a plus.
At least three years of experience in business development working with high-level clients in the property development and/or financial sectors
High levels of energy, initiative, resourcefulness, leadership and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to establish and develop relationships, to collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams
Sound business judgment, and project management skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results under tight deadlines with attention to detail
Spoken and written fluency in both Chinese and English
