美国东海岸缅因州龙虾节从1947年就开始举办，至今已有70年的历史了。Rockland 是缅因州龙虾的原产地，每年8月的第一个星期，都在Rockland举办缅因州龙虾节（Maine Lobster Festival），这是全美最大规模的活动之一。今年的龙虾节从8月2日开始到8月6日止。

这么大规模的五天节庆，当然不只是吃龙虾了，还有游行、演唱会、选美等活动。每年的缅因州龙虾节可以吃掉20,000磅的龙虾，光是沾龙虾来吃的黄油，都会被吃掉1,700磅。据说第一届的龙虾节，1美元龙虾任吃！没看错！是任吃！但那是1947年！那时你在哪？此一时彼一时！昔日不再有！还是想一想即将到来的这一届龙虾节吧！

General admission tickets may be purchased at each of the gates.

ACTIVE Military personnel who show ID are given free admission-

On Opening Day, Wednesday, August 2, enjoy a discount on Adult admission tickets:

- Adults, $1; (12 and older).

- Children 11-under are free

Thursday, August 3, through Saturday, August 5, :

- Adults, $8 (12 and older); Children 6-11 years old, $2.

- Children under 5 years old get in for free

Sunday, August 6 will be Hometown and Family Fun Day. It will feature all of the Festival’s children’s events, including the internationally-renowned Great Crate Race at Rockland Harbor.

- Free Admission for all visitors!

Entertainment Tickets

Get up close to the Main Stage for our 2016 performances on Friday and Saturday nights at the Maine Lobster Festival by purchasing tickets. Tickets for Friday and Saturday shows are $25*. You may purchase tickets at the Main Gate to the Festival grounds, right by the Time Out Pub on Rockland’s Main Street. Make sure you buy your tickets early. Tickets may be picked up at the Main Gate during festival hours.

Individual seats within the Main Stage area are not assigned and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Festival goers may also enjoy the shows without seats from farther away.

Steins and Vines

Tickets are for one of two seatings on Thursday, August 3th in the North Entertainment Tent. The tickets are $25 each for adults 21 years or older. No one underage will be permitted in that area. Times will be 4:00pm-5:30pm and 6:00pm-7:30pm. Tickets may be picked up at the Main Gate during festival hours. Limited number of seating available on a first-come, first served basis.

停车：The Maine Lobster Festival does not have any designated parking spaces for our guests.

The Festival runs continuous FREE shuttles from the parking lots of Oceanside East and the Rockland District Middle School to the Festival gate all day on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Our free shuttle buses run every 30 min or less from the high school and middle school to the festival grounds and back. The bus schedule is listed on our festival .

9:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m.	North Entertainment Tent Amateur chefs are invited to sign up for the annual Maine Lobster Festival Seafood Cooking Contest. The contest is part of the 70^th annual festival, which will be held Aug 2 through Aug. 6, 2017 at Harbor Park along the city’s waterfront. Amateur chefs age 18 and older are welcome to compete for more than $500 in prize money during this popular event. A panel will pick five contestants and their recipes to participate in the contest. Selection is based on creativity, suitability of the seafood to the recipe and simplicity. The recipes can be any dish and must contain seafood found in Maine waters. The contest will begin at 9 a.m., Friday, August 4, in the North Entertainment Tent on the festival grounds. Judging will begin at 11:00 a.m., with prizes announced and awarded around 12:30 p.m. First prize is $200, second prize is $175, and third prize is $150. The contest audience will have the opportunity to sample the prepared recipes in the cooking area and pick up the contestants’ recipes after the awards are presented. The Maine Lobster Festival is five days of fun and feasting on the fabulous coast of Maine. This annual event takes place during the first weekend of August, from Wednesday through Sunday. The Maine Lobster Festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Rockland, Maine, each year with the promise of fresh, local lobster dinners, nationally renowned entertainers, cooking contests, carnival rides, Maine craftsmen and artists.

What started as an idea for a local marine festival to revive Midcoast Maine communities has turned into an internationally-recognized celebration of local seafood. The Maine Lobster Festival attracts visitors from as near as Owls Head, Maine, to visitors from countries throughout Europe and Asia.

Since 1947, the Maine Lobster Festival has given more than $500,000 to Midcoast Maine’s communities. As a non-profit organization, the Maine Lobster Festival donates all proceeds back to the Midcoast Maine communities each year. We support local food pantries, high school sports teams, community service groups, local emergency services, and offer college scholarships for graduating high school seniors.

The Maine Lobster Festival is run exclusively by volunteers. More than 1,100 volunteers from the community and “from away” help us year after year on the festival grounds. From our board of directors right down to the wonderful men and women who serve lobster dinners to our visitors, our hard work is repaid in the form of happy visitors and the satisfaction of supporting Maine’s lobster industry. Locals and visitors alike are welcome to volunteer by filling out a .
