刘树春的艺术像他的人生
他的人生是一次漫长的旅行，从中国大都市上海到美国大都市纽约，从水城威尼斯波光粼粼的河边到江南古镇水光潋滟的湖边。他步履匆勿，行踪无迹，从一个地方到另一个地方，变换着生活环境，人生的状态和视野的风光风情。沒有终极的目标，所有的地方都是漫长旅程中一個歇脚的去处。他，是大地上不太歇脚的漂泊者。
Lawrence Liu’s Art is Like His Life
His life is a long journey, from the metropolis Shanghai, China, to the American metropolis of New York, from the sparkling river of the water town Venice to the shining lake of the ancient town of Jiangnan. His pace is hurried without leaving any marks, from one place to another, changing the living environment and the scenery of views. There is no final destination, all of the places are resting spots in the long journey. He, a wanderer who does not really stop.
他的艺术也是这样，从来沒有停止过探索前进脚步。弗洛伊德说， “艺术家是白日做梦”。刘树春就是一个生活在一个个艺术梦境里的行者。
His art is also like that, never stopping the steps of exploring. Freud said, “artists are daydreaming”. Liu Shuchun is just such a traveler who lives in different art dreams.
他的油画有着自已独特的气息，时而带着粉画涂抹的肌理质感，时而带着中国画水墨渲染的效果，时而又有点抽象韵味的平面切割。但它們活泼灵动而充满变化的可能性，又"随心所欲而不逾矩"，实实在在生活在油画的世界里，他把油画帶到了一个属于他的艺术天地里。
His oil paintings have his special styles, sometimes with the texture of pastels, sometimes with the effects of traditional Chinese ink paintings, and sometimes has flat cuttings with a bit of abstract charm. But the lively and flexible possibility of change, “free but not exceeding” , actually lives in the world of oil painting, he brought it to an art land that belongs to him.
也许是出生、成长在上海弄堂和临近水乡，他在画布上展示的石库门民舍、古镇石桥和小巷时，显得特別的得心应手，既有人们熟悉的一面又有人们陌生的另一面，既有摄入眼帘的一面又有活在心里的另一面，既有生动喧嚣的一面又有宁静幽深的另一面，既有明确呈现在我们眼前的风景又有渗透在大墙后面的人情，还有画面背后的那些流传文运的神秘故事和大文家、大诗人、大艺术家的浪漫情怀，甚至聆听到刚朵拉舟子放声的歌唱。
Maybe it is because of being born and grew up in the alley of Shanghai and the nearby water towns, when he shows the stone door houses, stone bridges and alley on the canvas, they seem handy. There is the familiar side and the strange side, some are in our eyes and some are in the heart, some are lively and bustle but some are quiet and sorrow, there are clear sceneries in front of us but there are also the hidden emotions behind the walls, and there are also those mysterious stories and great writers, poets, and artists' romantic feelings, even hearing the songs from Gondola.

Lawrence Liu's Personal Introduction and Art Achievements
美国华裔杰出艺术家，现为《写生中国》油画写生俱乐部副主席、《写生中国》上海分部主席、纽约《世界艺术研究院-油画雕塑院》院长和美国原创美术家协会副会长。
An outstanding Chinese American artist, he now is the vice chairman of "The Sketch of China" oil painting club, the chairman of the Shanghai branch, principal of the New York "World Academy of Art-Oil Painting and Sculpture College" and vice president of the American Original Artists Association.
生于上海，山东临沂沂南人，毕业于上海应用技术大学艺术与设计学院〈原上海轻专美术专业〉，师从于著名画家颜文樑、张英洪等先生。
Born in Shanghai, originate from Linyi, Shandong province, graduated from College of Art and Design of the Shanghai Institute of Technology (originally Department of Fine Arts, Shanghai Light Industry College), learned after the famous painter Yan Wenliang and Zhang Yinghong,etc..
1986年水墨画《梦乡》获首届上海青年美术大展优秀作品奖，1987年综合材料作品《春江》入选参加全国美展上海展区，1988年10月上海美术馆研究部主办《刘树春画展》，1991年5月法国教育部文化协会在香港和九龙两地分别举办《刘树春作品展》。
In 1986, the ink painting "Dream Home" won the first Shanghai Youth Art Exhibition Excellence Award. In 1987, the general material work "Spring River" was selected to participate in the Shanghai exhibition of the National Fine Art Exhibition. In October 1988, the Shanghai Art Museum Research Department hosted "Lawrence Liu's Painting Exhibition", In May 1991, the French Ministry of Education Cultural Association held "Lawrence Liu Works Exhibition" in Hong Kong and Kowloon.
1991年12月移居纽约，多次在美国纽约、加州、费城等地举办个展、联展和拍卖，2000年荣获美国世界艺术中心颁发的"终身艺术成就奖"，2010年上海古镇朱家角创建《树春艺术馆》，并被列入上海青浦区文旅局扶持项目，2013年山东临沂沂南政府建立《刘树春艺术馆》，2018年、2019年分别在纽约、上海和山东举办刘树春《家山拾梦》素色油画系列作品个展。
He moved to New York in December 1991, he had held solo exhibitions, joint exhibitions and auctions in New York, California, Philadelphia and other places in the United States. In 2000, he won the "Lifetime Art Achievement Award" presented by the U.S. World Art Center, established "Lawrence Art Gallery" in the ancient town Zhu Jia Jiao, and was included in the support project of Shanghai Qingpu District Cultural Tourism Bureau. In 2013, the Linan Yinan Government of Shandong established the "Liu Shuchun Art Museum". In 2018 and 2019, Lawrence Liu's series of plain color oil paintings “Home Mountain Picks Up Dream" held Solo Exhibitions in New York, Shanghai, and Shandong.
刘树春早期现代绘画作品"远眺“、"山韵"等由 美国俄亥俄国家博物馆收藏及美、法、日等国友人收藏。近年来油画人物、风景画作品多在上海《朵云轩拍卖公司》参拍，上海新民晚报、文汇报、解放日报和上海"书与画“、天津"国画世界“、上海“美术天地"、法国“文旅“和美国微软曼哈頓五大道旗舰店等杂志和媒体，先后刋登介绍 刘树春绘画作品，2018年荣获纽约市国会颁发的艺术成就奖。
Lawrence Liu’s early modern painting works “Far View”, “Mountain Rhythm” and etc. were collected by the American Ohio National Museum and people from the U.S., France, Japan, etc.. In recent years, most of the oil painting figures and landscape paintings have been auctioned by the Shanghai "Duoyunxuan Auction Company", Shanghai Xinmin Evening News, Wenhui Daily, Liberty Daily, and Shanghai “Books and Paintings”, Tianjin "Chinese Painting World", Shanghai "Art World", France " Wenlv”, and magazines and media such as Microsoft ’s flagship store on Manhattan ’s Fifth Avenue that have successively introduced Lawrence Liu ’s paintings and won the Art Achievement Award from the New York City Congress in 2018.
出版著作有《刘树春画选》、《珠溪风情》、《詩情画韵》、《古镇乡情》、《美丽沂南》、《人在履痕中~刘树春画集》和素色油画《家山拾梦~刘树春作品集》等。
Published works include “Lawrence Liu’s Paintings”, “Zhuxi Style”, “Poetry and Paintings”, “Ancient Town Custom”, “The Beautiful Yinan”, "People in the Traces ~ Liu Shuchun's Painting Collection", and plain color oil paintings “Home Mountain Picks Up Dream ~ Lawrence Liu’s Work Collection”, etc.
