CHELSEA CHEN

What should we know about you?
Chelsea has spent 5 years in Beijing✌, is an avid language and cross-culture lover, and loves to connect with people from different backgrounds!
What’s a fun fact about you?
Always curious about new things and loves to joke and make people comfortable during conversations
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
A healthier living lifestyle, connecting with more like-minded people, and improving language skills. 😊
NANCY JING
BWN Role: General Volunteer
What should we know about you?
I’m a sports fan, like marathons, diving, working out, swimming, etc. But I think the most important thing in the world is food and love! I also love cooking delicious food and baking for my family and friends.
What’s a fun fact about you?
Recently, I got food poisoning by myself for I didn’t know black fungus mushrooms (mu'er) can’t be eaten after 8 hrs.
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
Do my best to be a happy, good, helpful person.
TAL
BWN Role: General Volunteer
What should we know about you?
I'm a researcher, currently based in Beijing. I'm passionate about politics, environmental affairs, and female empowerment!
What’s a fun fact about you?
If I'm not at work, I'll probably be looking for the best cup of coffee around
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
2022 will be my fourth year in Beijing, but definitely not the last! I'm looking forward to continuing to learn more about the place I call home and taking part in BWN's amazing events!
ELLA (ZHAOHONG)
BWN Role: General Volunteer
What should we know about you?
My name is Ella. I’m Chinese and from North China, and am living in Beijing now. I used to work in logistics, project management, communication, accounting, and marketing for various e-commerce companies, but I'm now a freelance artist and business advisor. I am excited to join BWN and work with a group of incredible women, to bring up meaningful, interesting, and inspiring events to people.
What’s a fun fact about you?
Love fashion and sometimes like the quirky style, lol. I love drawing fun pictures that are inspired by real life.
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
Health, happiness, and maybe more fortune (I try my best)
NIAMA
BWN Role: Applied Skills Event Manager
What should we know about you?
I am Niama and I’ve been in China since 2014. I like reading, drinking tea, and watching crime TV. I am very passionate about women's issues and mental health.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I have never had coffee and I hate its smell
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
To be better than 2020 and 2021.
TERI
BWN Role: Healthy Living Event Manager
What should we know about you?
Teri is a self-proclaimed biohacker who has a passion for researching and discovering new things. One of her favorite quotes to live by is, "Life isn't as serious as your mind makes it out to be." -Eckhart Tolle
What’s a fun fact about you?
Teri loves to start every morning on a positive note by beginning with her daily meditation!
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
Teri is looking forward to connecting with loads of unique individuals this year!
AMANDA JIA
BWN Role: Spotlight Dinner Event Manager
What should we know about you?
I’m currently a teacher at the Communication University, my background is in design and architecture. Apart from work, I volunteered at 2 different organizations, one is the Shunyi dog shelter and BWN.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I can make helicopter sound using my month ( so proud of it :P)
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
Having more time to reflect and to travel to at least one place!! And probably try to do more exercise in general:)
AILEEN LEE
BWN Role: Fierce Females Event Manager
What should we know about you?
Ms. Aileen Lee is a Deputy Head, Dean of Faculty of a high school in Beijing. She is a recipient of the International Association of College Admissions Counseling Award and a receiver of their opportunity grant that invests towards helping refugees to access higher education. She helped spearhead and established China’s first high school access scholarship program for refugees in Jordan.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I gave birth to 3 kids in 3 different countries!
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
Improve my cooking skills!
EMILY HODSON
BWN Role: Spotlight Dinner Event Manager
What should we know about you?
Emily is a 30 year old British National who has been living in China for three years, first in Chongqing and now in Beijing. She loves to eat, dance and travel, and is currently fostering a mischievous puppy called Ozzy.
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
Visiting my family and friends in the UK for the first time in two years
