创始人的信#8：教学方面的多样性及对不同需求的包容性
When talking about diversity and inclusion, there is a lot of discussion about women’s rights, racial discrimination or the LGBTQ community.
在谈到多样性和包容性时，有很多关于妇女权利、种族歧视或LGBTQ社区的讨论。
However, there are still groups of people who are neglected from the conversation.
然而，在多样性相关讨论中仍有被忽视的一些群体。
One example are those people on the autism spectrum, or who are struggling with ADHD or anyone with a learning disability in general.
一个例子是自闭症谱系患者，或者多动症患者，或者任何有学习障碍的人。
The challenge here is that very often these conditions aren’t so visible and their symptoms are not so well known to the masses.
在这方面的挑战是，这些情况往往不那么明显，其症状也不那么为大众所知。
This is why people who suffer from these conditions most of the time end up being labeled as “weird”, or “difficult people to deal with”, get secluded from society or left behind because they can’t keep up with the majority and don’t get the support that they need.
这就是为什么大多数情况下患有这些症状的人最终会被贴上“怪人”或“难以相处的人”的标签，因为他们跟不上大多数人，而被社会排除或被甩在后面，也得不到他们需要的支持。
Tianmei's World Academy Values

Two of Tianmei’s World Academy values are diversity in delivery methods and inclusiveness to different needs.
天美的世界学院的两大价值观是在教学方式方面的多样性和能满足不同需求的包容性。
These values come from the realization that the “one-size-fits-all” approach that we use both in education and business is creating a lot of problems, but also division.
这些价值观的出现是经过发现，我们在教育和商业中使用的“一刀切”方法正在制造许多问题，同时，也带来了分歧。
In education, if you can follow the teacher’s teaching style, then you are considered a good student.
在教育方面，如果你能遵循老师的教学风格，那么你就被认为是一个好学生。
However, if you can’t, then you are considered someone who doesn’t love learning.
In business we are always told that we should focus on a target audience based on gender, age etc which creates further division and exclusion.
在商业领域，我们总是被告知，我们应该关注基于性别、年龄等的目标受众，而这件事情会造成进一步的分化和排斥。
Society, education and business are constantly boxing us into what we should do and at what age.
社会、教育和商业不断地把我们束缚我们在什么年龄应该做什么。
But what if, for example, a 90-year old lady wants to dye her hair purple?
但如果一位90岁的女士想把头发染成紫色呢？
Should she not be allowed to do so if she so desires?

Is age a good enough reason to be boxed into retirement and knitting?

How it all started
如何开始
Tianmei’s World Academy’s journey on the diversity path started from myself never being a very good learner in the traditional sense.
天美的世界学院在多元化道路上的旅程始于我自己的经历；我从来都不是一个很好的学习者，或至少不属于传统意义上的好学生。
I was never a straight A student and was always interested in many things.
我从来都不是优等生，而且对很多事情都很感兴趣。
I get bored easily of doing the same thing over and over again, which is why I was never able to last in the same job for more than 1 year before I became an entrepreneur.
我很容易厌倦一遍又一遍地做同样的事情，这就是为什么在我成为一名创业者之前，我从未能在同一份工作中坚持超过一年的时间。
So, I am definitely not the type of “good and obedient” student generally saught for by society.
所以，我绝对不是那种被社会普遍吹捧的“善良听话”的学生。
I am always the rebel or the “weirdo” to go against the mainstream, the person who asks all the uncomfortable questions.
我总是一个反抗主流的人或所谓的“怪人”，一个问所有不舒服问题的人。
Because of this, for a very long time I felt out of place in many situations, feeling that I can’t fit in.
Having been exposed to Environmental Psychology and understanding the complexity of the environmental elements that influence our behavior, I realized that the problem wasn’t my way of doing things.
接触了环境心理学，了解了影响我们行为的环境因素的复杂性之后，我意识到问题不是我做事的方式。

The problems are the educational system and society that try to box us for the sake of efficiency.
问题是教育系统和社会为了效率而试图把我们归类各种框框。
No matter if it’s educational systems or business models, all are working on the same linear model: you either fit in or you are a problem and get excluded.
无论是教育系统还是商业模式，大部分都在使用同一个单方向的模式：你要么适应了框框，要么被归类在问题框框里，被排除在外。
In order to create more inclusive and diverse learning environments, Tianmei’s World Academy developed an educational framework that can allow each individual to experience for themselves what kind of learning environments are most suitable for themselves and just decide by themselves what kind of person they are or want to become, beyond the“one-size-fits-all” approach.
为了创造更具包容性和多样性的学习环境，天美的世界学院开发了一个教学框架，可以让每个人亲身体验什么样的学习环境最适合自己，以便每一位参与者决定自己是什么样的人或想成为什么样的人，超越“一刀切”的方法。
However, even with this framework, Tianmei’s World Academy has limitations too, because it is not equipped to service everyone.
然而，即使有了这个框架，天美的世界学院也有局限性，因为它不能为所有人服务。
In order to further advance the work on promoting inclusiveness and diversity also for those groups who are dealing with learning dissabilities, Tianmei’s World Academy has recently started cooperating with GeFei Education.
为了进一步为那些面对学习障碍的群体推进促进包容性和多样性的工作，天美的世界学院最近开始与歌斐发展学苑合作。
GeFei Education is a studio focusing on providing support to children aged 3– 12, who are on the autism spectrum, ADHD and other learning dissabilities.
The main reason to join forces with GeFei Education is because I realized that even if the Academy’s mission is to provide equal access to high quality education to everyone beyond financial and geographical barriers, there are still many groups of people that I can’t reach through the Acaademy’s work.
与歌斐发展学苑合作的主要原因是因为我意识到，即使学院的使命是为所有人提供超越经济和地理障碍的高质量、平等的教育机会，仍然有许多群体是我无法通过学院的工作接触到的。
I must admit that I don’t have the proper qualifications to deal with this group of people, but I want to learn how to support them better.
我必须承认，我目前没有可以支持自闭症、多动症等学习障碍群体相关的经验，但我想学习如何更好地支持他们。
By joining forces, GeFei Education is able to fill in the gaps in the work that Tianmei’s World Academy is not able to do at the moment.
通过联手，歌斐发展学苑能够填补天美的世界学院目前无法填补的空白。
Apart from mentoring support on the business development and marketing side, 70% of the ticket value for any offline learning experience that Tianmei’s World Academy organizes and 10% of the corporate training packages that TMWA offers go to supporting GeFei’s work.
除了创业引导支持，天美的世界学院提供的所有线下学习体验门票价值的70%和所有企业培训费用的10%都用于支持歌斐发展学苑在自闭症、多动症等学习障碍方面的教育工作。
They use this money to offer free assessments for autism and also provide scholarships for those in need.
他们用这笔钱为自闭症患者提供免费评估，并为有需要的人提供奖学金。
