14-day Ripples Artist Residence Online Program

100 artists

a bag of rice

inflatable bed,

14 days in isolation

14-day Ripples Artist Residence Online Program

Profile

The coronavirus has become a global challenge. In the face of the crisis, imposed quarantine not only brings people a sense of security, but makes people more isolated than ever.

Therefore,a sense of "Everyone is an island"  will inevitably confront everyone.

Against this particular background, we will launch the “14-day Ripple Artist Residence Program online”.

The program will be jointly held by OPEN&FUN Art Village and Design Harvests. We will invite people from all walks of life around the world to participate in this art event so as to explore the boundaries between city and the countryside  as well as the way we harmoniously coexist with the nature.

We will provide each participant with food and accommodation (" Design Harvests "rice and inflatable bed ) for free.

During the 14-day "isolation". Participants  can imagine they are living in "isolation" and they are required to record the progress of art making ( picture or video) .

After the 14-day "isolation" , participants need to send us the record and the used inflatable  bed.

All the records ( picture or video) and the inflatable beds sent back by participants will be on display at the OPEN&FUN Art Village on Chongming island within this year. Also, some participants will  have the opportunity to visit the art village.

We hope that all participants can join us and connect with each other during this special days.

Q&A 答疑>

OPEN&FUNArt Village is currently an art space and artist studio which used to be a pigshed, as an art work of artist FU Jikang(KANG), it’s also a question about the pig shed’s characteristics which are developed by humans:imprisonment, limit, time elapse and so on, and a subversively transformation to make it a specificfield for freely dialogue with nature at any time.

It completely subvert the people's awareness of art exhibition field; completely recycle the use of raw materials for recreation under the preservation of the original structure of the pig shed. With the completed transformation, the artspace is currently surrounded by nature, open field of vision, strange steel pipe construction, open communication space, unrestrained art and interesting accommodation.

The seamless combination of art and nature, allows artists to return to the field, nature, outdoor; the brand new fun of experience, defines its unique and harmonious existence, which exists for the artists, outdoor behavioral art lovers and art youth who pursue the unlimitation.
