双语丨诗画节气之“立夏”

立夏时节，梅子的酸涩还留在牙齿上，芭蕉的树影映着窗纱。

At the beginning of summer, the poet could still sense the sourness of plums left in his mouth and saw the banana leaves casting shadows on the window. 

午睡醒来，百无聊赖，诗人起身看孩子们在庭院里捉柳花。

Waking up from a nap, the poet had nothing else to do but rise to watch the children catching catkins in the courtyard. 

柳絮飞来飞去，孩子们欢声笑语，诗人的童心也被唤起。

As the catkins flew around, the children played and laughed, arousing the poet’s childhood memories. 

闲居初夏午睡起

梅子留酸软齿牙，芭蕉分绿与窗纱。

日长睡起无情思，闲看儿童捉柳花。

On a long day I rise listless from my nap;

本期节目选用的诗和画分别是宋代诗人杨万里的《闲居初夏午睡起》与明代画家周臣的《闲看儿童捉柳花句意图》。

This episode features poem Early Summer Waking from a Nap by Yang Wanli, a poet of the Song Dynasty (1127-1279), and painting Idly I Watch Children Catch Willow Catkins by Zhou Chen of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). 

周臣的画正是围绕杨万里诗“闲看儿童捉柳花”一句展开的，将诗中描绘的景色完美地还原了出来，妙趣横生。

As the catkins flew around, the children played and laughed, arousing the poet’s childhood memories. Zhou Chen’s painting vividly reconstructs the scene depicted in a line of Yang Wanli's poem: “Idly I watch children catch willow catkins.”
