双语丨诗画节气之“小满”

小满时节，正是蔷薇花开。

As the solar term ‘Grain Buds’ arrives, roses are in full blossom. 

唐末将领高骈的《山亭夏日》，就像一幅绘画，绿树阴浓，楼台倒影，池塘水波，满架蔷薇。

The poem A Pavilion in the Mountain on a Summer Day by Gao Pian, a general in the late Tang Dynasty (618-907), is like a picture depicting a pavilion in the shade of dark green trees, with reflections in a small pond adorned by roses blooming on fences.

字里行间的微风、帘动、花香，传神地描绘了初夏的悠闲宁静。

The smooth breeze, waving curtains and fragrance of flowers in the poem vividly convey the tranquility of early summer.

高骈

绿树阴浓夏日长，楼台倒影入池塘。

水晶帘动微风起，满架蔷薇一院香。

A Pavilion in the Mountain on a Summer Day 

Gao Pian 

The summer day's as long as the green shade's cool; 

The pavilion casts its shadow into the pool. 

The gentle breeze ripples the water crystal-clear;

The trellis of roses spreads fragrance far and near.

南宋的《柳院消暑图》，藏于北京故宫博物院。

Spending Summer in a Willow Courtyard is a painting from the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), now in the collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing. 

庭院一角，白衣老翁正赏景纳凉。院中庭花盛开、绿草茵茵，门前湖水涟漪、浮萍点点。

In the painting, an old man in white rests in shade at a corner of the courtyard. The courtyard is full of blooming flowers and green grass. Duckweeds are floating in the rippling pond in front of the door. 

远处山峦起伏，近处垂柳依依，风物与小满节气相符，意境与诗文相称。

There are rugged mountains in the distance and weeping willows nearby. The scenery is in line with the solar term ‘Grain Buds’, creating a vibe that echoes the artistic conception of the poetry.
