135年历史伦敦老牌杂志《New Humanist》刊登殷晓媛诗歌作品

本月，创办于1885年、拥有135年历史的伦敦老牌杂志《New Humanist》（2020年秋季刊）刊登殷晓媛“大气物理系列”组诗中《曙暮光樱》一首。

殷晓媛诗集《Cloud Seeding Agent》

殷晓媛

New Humanist is a quarterly magazine, published by the Rationalist Association in the UK, that focuses on culture, news, philosophy, and science from a sceptical perspective.

The New Humanist has been in print for 135years; starting out life as Watts's Literary Guide, founded by C. A. Watts in November 1885. It later became The Literary Guide and Rationalist Review (1894–1954), Humanist (1956–1971) and the New Humanist in 1972.

1号灰色模型：

莫里斯先生的义肢发出香樟木气息，他想，

这是在他房间的深水式黑暗中浸泡得不够长久的缘故。

（否则早就成为乌木了。）

锂、巴比妥，他颅腔内透进微光的弹丸之地，水泡汩汩有声。

他在它与胳臂接壤处涂上一层灰泥，以保证颜色的连续性。

但这只手有更多的诡计：扼死他的猫，企图破坏他的另一只手，

用装有银质子弹的手枪对准他惊跳不已的太阳穴。（虽然他并非狼人）

“帮我卸掉这假肢。”他在走廊里悄声向一位医生求救

——这只手一跃而起将医生击昏过去。

控制左半边身体的是右脑，他决定，掘空自己的右边头颅：

这很简单——从破裂的核桃壳中取出果仁。

2号灰色模型：

“让人惊叹！您城堡外墙这些蔷薇浮雕，栩栩如生，我每次来它们都似乎有所变化。”

“您是第七个……我告诉每个人它们不是浮雕，但没人相信我。

由于某种未知的诅咒，城墙一英尺内生长的一切都有灰白的石质。”

伯爵夫人走下旋梯，小腹明亮而隆起如萤火虫，

光芒照透深红而涌动的巨大裙摆——他几乎可以透视般预见，

那是恶魔之子。

他嘲笑那闪电不能锯开他的心脏，他蹒跚如学步的复活者，

他让妻子靠着那墙分娩。

3号灰色模型：

大爆炸后的残烬已经下了三十三天，他们还在迁徙途中，

背着笨重的防护服，吃掉沿途未被覆盖的一切。

让细菌和辐射从内部打败他们，大部分意志不坚的铁，

瓦解时发出坚果在火中迸裂的声音。

一个满脸尘污的美丽女人。一个退伍老兵。

时间取消他们和一只穿山甲的区别。

“约翰尼，快，你的蓝色失控了！”

蓝色爬上他的床单和幔帐，蓝色像密集的雨滴冲向天花板，

蓝色的滚轴云压垮他的屋脊发出骨折的巨响，

遥远的树木站在泛滥成灾的蓝里像绝望抛撒孢子的大型真菌。

压缩在他橱柜里的干燥的蓝，他们拆开自己如沉睡的翼龙：

天地间可供栖息的落点，都已被占据。

“我不是个合格的造纸师，我知道如何铺陈它们，却不知道如何叠放回去……”

年迈的国王在茫茫冰雪中匍匐前进，

在找到他被日食锁在海底的兽之前，

他要忍受风雪的鞭笞、盘旋的暗夜、啮咬的疼痛，一些断层，一些迷踪，一些盐。

王冠和魔戒已经锈蚀，

他挖掘，他披着长卷发挖掘，他让大地流出银色的血。

他的橘色的兽睡在白蚕茧里，他潜下海底，将它捕捞上来。

——他打开它如解开时针和分针的玄秘，那红光挪走他脸上的皱纹如擦去一些水渍。

孤独的一道彼岸。银色世界远处的月牙形。他和它。

最后一个故事不是真的。但现在它是真的了。

离去前，约翰尼用最后的粉色在环形荧幕上画出了它。

“灰色的高积云和蓝色天空之间一抹黄红色带，

那便是曙暮光樱。”

Nautical Twilight

“This piece of work is almost done, just be patient and hold on for now…You may have been aware that adrenalin, fuming in the shadow of my spine, is vicious and always ready to attack. If you happen to startle it, it could be lethal for you…” (Ambient sound: dripping in some Karst cave)

Model No.1-Gray 

Señor Morris’ artificial limb smelt like camphor, which, he thought

resulted from its awkward, insufficient immersion in this dark room

(Or it would smell like agarwood)

Lithium, barbiturates…His intracranial space,  a hand-sized cavity inside his skull, was penetrated by light, in whose dazzling brilliancy suddenly he heard the bubbling of an underground river

He whitewashed around the elbow joint, to ensure the color from his Triceps brachii to Extensor carpi was consistent .

But the limb had its own ideas: throttling his cat, destroying his other hand

and pointing a gun loaded with silver bullets at his own temple (He was no werewolf though)

“Help! Take off this crazy limb for me!” he shouted and seized a doctor by the arm in the hallway

--but his artificial limb sprang up and knocked out the doctor before he could help

“It was the right hemisphere that controlled movement for the left side of the body”, he knew that and decided to hollow out his right brain

This kind of trick was as simple as pulling the nut meats out from a cracked walnut

Model No.2-Gray 

“Impressive! I mean the stone  embossment roses all over the walls of your castle. So strikingly vivid, their silhouettes shifted fantastically every time I came here.”

“You are the seventh. Seventh guest who said so… I told them all the roses are alive, but they just don’t believe it!

The castle has been long under a spell, everything growing on and inside the walls will turn plaster-gray.”

The duchess descended the spiral staircase, her pregnant belly as bright as the abdomen of a firefly 

which cast its blazing rays upon her black Victorian dress—he could almost predict by Clairvoyance from this

that it was Son of Evil

He laughed at the lightning streaks for failing to thump open his stony heart, while he staggered in the wilderness blindly like a toddler

When he arrived home, he told his wife to give birth against the wall

Model No.3-Gray 

It has been raining ashes for 33 days since the massive explosion, the vagrants were struggling and striving onward along the dusty-covered road

They wore heavy protective clothing, and ate up everything they could find on their way

They were destined to be defeated by bacteria and radiations from the inside. The moment, when their lives were shattered like rusty iron 

crackings like chestnuts in a fireplace could be heard

A muddy-face woman. A veteran.

Time erased their countenances and voices before wiping the pangolins off from history.

“When I made the decorative coating of walls I dipped all my fingers into the plaster 

So the figures would not resist me any longer…They feel familiar and are always infatuated with this decadently cold, stiff feel…”

“Johnny, come over here, your Blue is running rampant!”

His Blue climbed up his drapes, furniture covers and bed skirts, and raining upwards unto the ceiling like a hailstorm against gravity

Blue roll clouds crushed his roof with a fracture-like snap

Trees in the distance stood in Blue flood, blowing its spores like Ancient Ferns did

Dehydrated Blue in his cupboard, was dissolved like a pterosaur spreading its wings 

All perches under the vast arch, were all occupied by this profuse color

“I’m an unprofessional paper-maker, I know how to roll it out but have no idea how to roll it back in…”

(Bitter icy winds. Crow rattles in bleak desolation)

The old king was crawling forward in the snow with clanking chains attached

Before he found his divine beast locked up at the bottom of the sea

He must tough out the polar night, all the tortures from blizzards, pains, amnesia, perplexing clues and this plain of salt

Both his crown and his ring had been eroded away

He dug with his long hoary hair trailing behind. He made the earth bleed

His orange-chest beast was sleeping beneath vast waters in a snow-white cocoon, he was supposed to dive deep and bring it back to life

--He decrypted the combination between the hour hand and the minute hand . The burning-coal-eyes of the beast ironed out all the creases on his face

The other shore, beyond solitude. Swiftly elapsing phases of the moon. There were only the king and his beast.

The last story was not real, but it is real now.

Before leaving, Johnny had painted it on the circular screen with the last of his pink.

“When the geometric center of the Sun's disk is between 6 and 12 degrees below the horizon, 

you can see the horizon illuminated with light orange, 

It is called ‘Nautical Twilight’.”
