别太抽象理论、别太微观行动，快告诉我【机制】到底要怎么找！

Edling,Christofer, and Jens Rydgren. “Social Mechanisms in Empirical Sociology Introduction to Special Issue.” AmericanBehavioral Scientist 60, no. 10 (September 1, 2016): 1135–45.

提到“机制”，不得不得Hedström,P., & Swedberg, R.两位北欧学者。但是，Edling, Christofer, and JensRydgren，也是两位瑞典大学的（路德和斯德哥尔摩大学），提出对机制解释，尤其是对分析社会学一路提出了批判。

1. 太抽象了理论。

2. 太化约到行动层面。

1.太理论

机制解释常见的是反对覆盖律、理论建构、寻找微观基础这些很后设理论的讨论，那么到底在经验中是要怎么“做”呢？——still too preoccupied withintratheoretical and metatheoretical discussions.

2.太化约到行动层面

如果按Coleman著名的“船形模型”分析层次来看：有macro-to-micro mechanisms,micro-to-micro mechanisms, micro-to-macro mechanisms 三种路径，

——但是机制解释到了分析社会学，以agent-basedmodeling，更爱搞的是microfoudations是action formation mechanism，是micro-micro，那么macro-micro, micro-macro便很少谈了(Many of the main advocates ofthe social mechanism approach have moved on to the somewhat narrower program of analytical sociology. )

他们认为，其实，macro-to-micro mechanisms是社会学主流。

于是，《美国行为科学家》杂志组了一专辑，包括几篇论文，来讨论这个问题，包括：

1. Mary C. Brinton：宏观—>微观的机制。经验问题是：the question why we find such large differences in birth rates across postindustrial societies.

2. Filiz Garip and Asad L. Asad：宏观—>微观的机制。经验问题是：whysome Mexicans rather than others emigrate to the United States, given that theyall share a socially disadvantaged and economically relatively deprivedposition.

3. 以及微观—>微观机制、……等机制解释应用出来的案例与经验问题，定性、定量和实验方法都用了起来，不再只是分析社会学喜欢搞的“agent-based modeling”
