A Chinese boy has been arrested after allegedly decapitating his mother, storing her head in a bucket, and sharing footage of the atrocity with his friends on a smartphone.
The 13-year-old boy, named locally as Yuan Dongzhi, of Wenxing, in the southwestern Sichuan province, allegedly killed his mother after an argument on Sunday when she refused to give him 400 yuan (£45).

After chopping off her head he stored it then tried to dispose of it down a drain outside the family home. Her torso remained in their apartment. He was said to be an only child.
Police were not alerted until Wednesday, when a school classmate of the boy showed footage of the death to his mother, a friend of the dead woman, who called the authorities.
The boy was then arrested at school. The teenager was believed to have sent the footage on WeChat, the popular messaging and social media app owned by the Chinese technology giant Tencent.
WeChat is heavily censored by authorities, mainly for comments considered politically sensitive by the Communist Party, rather than for violent content. China carries the death penalty as a sentence for murder but only people aged 14 and above can be tried as adults.
