One of China's biggest social media platforms has made the snap decision to ban all content related to British cartoon Peppa Pig.
The porcine juggernaut has been wiped from video sharing site Douyin because of its growing popularity as a counter-cultural icon.
Douyin has been steadily banning user-produced videos that reference cross-dressing, religious cults, nudity and firearms.
And now Peppa Pig has made it onto the subversive list.

The piglet has been linked to China's shehuiren subculture, which celebrates idleness, poor education and unemployment. It began with a clip of Peppa Pig hanging up on her friend Susie because she knew how to whistle.
Since then, Peppa Pig mutated in Chinese subculture to represent gangsta attitudes and generally not caring about things.
And members of that subculture have taken to getting Peppa Pig tattoos and transfers, buying unlicensed Peppa Pig memorabilia and editing their own clips of the show with gangsta rap music.
It's bad news for the makers of Peppa Pig, who are building two theme parks in Beijing and Shanghai based around the character.
Those theme parks are still scheduled to be opened in 2019, the Year of the Pig.
